Remarks

I joined Aakash Chandigarh for my jee coaching. After few test I realised that I am good in mathematics. And also I keep myself busy to do mathematics problem lot of time. Aftee my jee advance result I was surprised that I got 82 marks in mathematics and just passing criteria marks in phy and chm. After that I got 3-4 college but I dropped all of them due to my high intrest in mathematics. So ai choose IISER mohali. It allows one to develop and be much cleverer, intelligent and broad-minded. When a student studies subjects like mathematic it augments their understanding of the world, effects, causes, etc. It lets them develop scientific knowledge and theory about everything in their surroundings they may stumble across. Science causes progressive and extraordinary developments. It has aided people in finding the cure to numerous diseases, increase awareness, and has created endless possibilities for us

Course Curriculum Overview

The academic programs at IISER Mohali are entirely in basic sciences with a strong emphasis on inter-disciplinary nature of science. The academic programs at IISER Mohali include a significant research component. 2

Talking about placement, there are no such cells for this. People find it on their own, and they go for Higher Studies like PhD and Post Doc etc. If we talk about the internship, there are a lot of opportunities for students here, from Microsoft to Mercedes Benz, you can apply anywhere.

College Events

4

The science and cultural festival of IISER Mohali, INSOMNIA2014, marked the end of the cultural activities of 2013-2014. It was an inter-college festival in which 18 colleges from outside IISER Mohali participated. The main organizers of the fest were Ms. Priyanka Jamadagni (cultural secretary) Mr. Promit Moitra and Mr. Deepanshu Sisodia. As part of the opening ceremony of the fest, the students performed a shadow-dance depicting the cultural, geographic and religious diversity of India. The two and half day long fest was packed with music, dance, drama, arts events along with literary events such as quizzes and debates. The fest concluded with a rock concert, CRESCENDO, in which rock-bands from different colleges participated, marking the grand-finale of a fantastic and successful fest.

A committee of several IIT directors - National Coordination Committee (NCC) is coordinating the PMRF activities for 2018.The PMRF scheme is aimed at attracting the talent pool from IISc, IITs, NITs, IISERs, and centrally funded IIITs to doctoral (Ph.D.) programs of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for carrying out research in frontier areas of science and technology domains. Campus Life

Very Good infrastructure and Asia's top library. Labs are fully furnished with all Equipments. The library's mission is to provide access to rich, relevant and high quality resources in all available formats to the IISER community. In doing so, the library aligns itself to teaching, learning, and research missions of the institute which is committed to excellence and innovation.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel are clean and condition of rooms are also good. Upto 2nd year there is 1 room oer 2 students and after that each student get their individual room. While studying and staying at IISER Mohali is an exhilarating experience, it can be quite stressful for students new to the system. In recognition of this fact, IISER Mohali has set up this counseling service for students. Further, a mentoring system involving senior students as well as faculty members has also been put in place. Every first year student is allotted two student mentors (drawn from a volunteer pool of students from senior batches) and one faculty advisor. The students are encouraged to remain in regular contact with their mentors and apprise them of their progress and their problems with the mentors)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The college provides good opportunities to those who are good at academics and for those who are not good at academics chances for them to placement are very low. During the past year, there were very good companies shown in my college for my seniors, some were very renowned companies and the highest package was something 650000.
