Remarks

It's best college in central India for pursuing research activities. The facilities and world class research and faculties are very nice. International exposure of students are some of the factors due to which I take admission in IISER Mohali.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure is of one year is divided in 2 semester system each of 6 months. In every completion of two months course mid semester examination took place whose weightage depend on individual professor and at last end semester examination takes place and the SPI is decide on combining results of quizzes, mid semester exams and end semester exams.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college, being a research institution, doesn't offer placement options. Most of the students pursue a Ph. D. after the BS-MS degree, in esteemed institutions in India and abroad. For internships, we apply for various Summer Research programmes or through personal mails to scientific investigators of interest.

College Events

5

The campus hosts many fests and events. A very high number of students participate in extracurricular activities. INSOMNIA is the annual fest of IISER Mohali held generally in February. We have celebrated Freshers party with the staring of the session with the Ganesh festival; teachers day was awesome including establishment day of our college.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am having INSPIRE scholarship provided by DST, Government of India to top 1% of boards students. Some students also receive KVPY scholarship.

Campus Life

The infrastructure of the college is awesome, and the campus environment is outstanding since day 1 of my course. Labs are well-equipped. Every student can improve their practical knowledge by doing practical's in the labs. The teachers, who teach us in the labs are highly qualified.

Hostel Facilities

Yes, I stay in the hostel. Girls hostel is best for the girls to stay. Hostel is very safe for girls guards and wardens are always available there to help you. Boys and girls hostel are combined. Hostels are very clean.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course will be completed on time, but you'll not get taught as you expected. The teaching techniques are boring, and you'll have difficulty. They charge you 2000 rupees as late fees for submission and so on, for the late exam fees as well. There are a lot of unnecessary fees that they will apply once you get admission there

Placement Experience:

As a BE Computer Science student at Chandigarh University, placements are decent but depend a lot on individual skills. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and most of the placement process happens in the 7th and 8th semesters. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some startups as well. There are a good number of offers made, especially from mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant. The highest package claimed by the university goes very high, even above 40 LPA, but those are for a very small number of students. Realistically, the average package for CSE students is around 5 to 7 LPA. Mass recruiters usually offer packages between 3 to 5 LPA. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they are consistent with coding and preparation. Those who depend only on college studies may find it harder due to high competition. The university also provides training for aptitude, coding tests and interviews which helps in preparation. After completing my degree, my plan is to get placed in a good product based company. At the same time, I am also focusing on improving my coding skills and working on projects so that I can aim for better opportunities or even higher studies if needed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum needs to focus on what you can do with information rather than the information itself. I wouldn’t eliminate content, without background we cannot form good, rational, and educated conclusions. We are still giving timed tests in math facts! I know that’s traditional, but it just isn’t as important. My era had no calculators and we needed to be proficient at paper and pencil solutions, but now, perfect calculations are available to everyone. We should focus on what kinds of problems can be solved with mathematics. Spelling is equally less important. Vocabulary should be stressed. My sister years ago was taking a test for a personal assistant position where she was asked to type a large number of words per minute error free. She was laughing at such a test. She said no one does that anymore, they just type then run spell check. Technology is changing our NEEDS opinion is that curriculum should reflect our reality. No one gets paid to solve problems that have already been solved. Students should be exposed to solving problems they have not seen before but that can be solve with the content they have learned in class. This will help them develop problem solving strategies they will be able to use the rest of their lives

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) I want to go in construction industry so i chose this field. 2) Currently our college curriculum is updated so its relevant i will say around 70 to 80% . 3) For improvement Faculties should be brought from all over india as professors here are only concentrated from ludhiana itself. and labs are very old it should be upgraded. 5) In a semester there are 2 monthly exams and one end semester exam. 6) As far as difficuly level of exam is concerned it is not much difficult if someone solved PYQ thoroughly.
