Remarks
I think all I have written is enough and all I have to write about the college. Mainly would like a better examination system and better faculty. The college is rated amongst the best colleges in Mumbai but it is disappointing.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty much like Mumbai University to which our autonomous college is affiliated. It's an average Electronics curriculum. The Exam structure however is abysmal. There are no preparation leaves before the exams and because the professors who teach a subject are the ones checking, they know the students' roll numbers are are partial towards the students they like. The rules are hazy and change at the convenience of the management. However the makeup exam system is beneficial.
Placement Experience
Placements of the college are great as compared to other state colleges. There are some internship opportunities as well and we're allowed to take the last semester only for internships and don't have to attend classes. However it's the first year of this rule, so I wouldn't be able to write about the experience.
College Events
Unlike most other Engineering colleges that have a cultural and a technical fest, ours just has a techno-cultural fest. This again only happend this year. E-Cell of the college tries ti conduct many fun and informative events and competitions, however the support they get from college is close to none. Instead the create obstacles over obstacles for us.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible, however it's significantly higher for us open category people as compared to the reserved caste students (sc, st, nt, obc students) Approximately Rs 5000 for themas compared to Rs 1,40,000 for us.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
I think there is some sort of scholarship for students whose annual family income is less than 6lakh. However I have not availed any scholarship and do not have much information about the specifics of the scholarships.
Campus Life
The labs are just below average and the equipments are old and don't give accurate results most of the times. This review however is only for the Electronics labs. The stools are wobbly and hard and uncomfortable.
Alumni/Alumna
There does not have a large alumni network as the college is fairly new. However the seniors are extremely supportive and the alumni are ready to come in for an event when invited and speak to the students.
Admission
I scored 131/200 in MH-CET Engineering entrance exam and on basis of open category merit list, I got an admission in Electronics department of S.P.I.T. in the Institute round of the admission process.
Faculty
Hardly any faculty member teaches satisfactorily. Over that some of them are highly disrespectful and crude to certain students. 20% of the grade in theory and 50% in practicals is totally in the professors and almost all of them are very partial towards the students they like. The professors have way too much power and they totally misuse it.
