Remarks

Sardar Patel institute of technology is one of the best engineering colleges in Mumbai and you should definitely consider it as one of your top choices. I have nothing but positive things to say about the college. You meet great people here, make some amazing friends who would be a part of this amazing journey with you. In the end i would say to enjoy your time over here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum of the course was good with a. ole focus on both theoretical as well as practical knowledge. We used to have labs daily as a part of curriculum and that helps in getting the necessary practical knowledge in a field like computer engineering. The exams are good and test our core concepts.

Placement Experience

5

The placement and job opportunities are among the best in mumbai. The college provides internship opportunities and a 6 months internship program is now compulsory for all the students who are not going for masters. The placement team is great and they do their job very well.

College Events

3.5

We have Oculus which is the techno- cultural fest of our college along with spoorthi which is the sports festival. Oculus and spoorthi both get a huge footfall of around 10000. This year Ayushmann Khurrana came for the promotion of his movie to the campus during Oculus.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is a little bit expensive. The fees for my couse was INR 130000 per year. The infrastructure of the college is very good with air conditioning in all the classes. The laboratories are top notch and the other facilities are great as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not take any loans nor had any scholarship so i have no idea regarding this. But there are a lot of scholarships for the students who need them. The students belonging to sc or at communies have reduced fee. Obc category students pay less too.

Campus Life

4.5

The sports activities are good in the college but they are not built into the college curriculum. You have to go and play on your own time. There are a few different clubs for extra curricular activities such as the drama club, the quiz club , debate society, college magazine.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I did not opt for the hostel facilities because the college doesnot have a hostel. However there is a lot of residential area around the college and it is easy for students to find the apartments around the college. Since the college is in andheri, the rent is a little high. The average rent should be around 6k or 7k per month.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students were great and were always helpful. I had a good friendship with many of them and they were available if we had any doubts. We were never ragged and the college has a no ragging policy. Everyone around the college is a delight to talk to.

Admission

I sat for the mhcet exam and got some good marks in it. I always had a fascination for cmputers so i always wanted computer engineering. After getting a rank i sat for the cap rounds and was fortunate enough to get this college on round 1 only. Once i got the college i went to the college to take admission there. I got admission in computer engineering. I was rooting for this college because all my older friends had told me that this is one of the best engineering colleges in Mumbai and some of the online research that i had conducted also pointed out the same. So i was happy to get into the college.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is highly experienced with all the teachers having atleast a master's degree in their domain and most of the teachers have a PhD with tons of practical experience and a lot of research work. The teachers are extremely helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Relevance: 8.5/10 (High Industry Alignment) The curriculum is highly relevant because it is one of the few in India specifically designed under the guidance of the Ministry of Home Affairs. PSU Alignment: The topics covered—such as Industrial Safety, Petroleum & Petrochemical Fire Safety, and Hazard Management—directly align with the requirements of top recruiters like ONGC, IOCL, and GAIL. NEP Integration: The college has recently transitioned to the New Education Policy (NEP), which introduces more flexible, research-oriented, and interdisciplinary learning modules, making the degree more modern and globally competitive. Practical Edge: The "Fire Ground Operations" (FGO) are not just physical exercise; they are a live application of the hydraulics and chemistry you learn in the classroom.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum of the college is as same as any other colleges. College does follow traditional approach but college does conduct various programs like AICTE idea lab course in curriculum. Teaching method in college needs to evolve and college needs to encourage the coding and development culture. And as for exam, for every subject exam iseasy to moderate level but for selective subject (depends on faculty) exam level is difficult.
