Remarks

I had applied to DJ sanghvi, VJTI and COEO,pune. Out of these I made the cut for DJ sanghvi but kept SPIT over it because of the reputation and placement records it holds. Also the fees were less. I couldn't get computer branch in VJTI and COEO due to their high cutoff. Mostly students take admission after clearing MHTCET exam with good rank. But some of the seats are reserved for the JEE mains students. The cutoff for that is high too.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Th curriculum is still old school but the college is improving the curriculum for the subsequent batches . More courses in the field of AI ar being offered henceforth. Otherwise in general the syllabus is Mumbai University based only.

Internships Opportunities

3

Some of the companies that come for internships in the 5th semester are Barclays and general Mills. The conduct a test and hr round to select students for internships. The internship provided is after 6 th semester. You need to have 1 or 2 basic projects in your resume to have a good chance.

Placement Experience

3

After semester 6 students are eligible for campus placements. Some of the top companies visited are phonepay, Morgan Stanley, JPMorganchase, Deutsche Bank, cashrich , nomura . The highest package offered is 35 lakhs and average package is 14 lakhs. Till now the placement percentage is 100 percent. My plan is to appear for placements after 6th sem.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees paid by me until now (2026 batch) is 175125 per year. Tuition fees are 152500 and development/ miscellaneous fees are 22625. The college offers the mahaDBT scholarship for different category students as well as general students with less income. For SC/ST the fees are as low as 2000 per year. Currently for 2027 and 2028 batches the fees has been increased to 2 lakhs per year.

Campus Life

4

The annual tech and cultural fests are held during March. The fest name is Oculus. Other events are held throughout the year by different clubs and committees of the college. There are committed for almost all the relevant extra curriculars. The SPIT library is accessible throughout the day . The range of hardcopies is very vast. Also students can get access to the digital library easily. The classrooms are well equipped with smartboards and speakers and good centralised Air conditioning. One of the main social cause group is the Rotaract club of SPIT.

Faculty

3

The grading system is relative grading so this is bas as well as good for the students. The professors for the later years are boring but for 1st and second years the curriculum is good and professors are chill. In a sester there are in total 3 exams- the mid sem exam (unit test), in sem exam (a short MCQ based test ) and a final end sem exam(final exam that carries more weightage)

Night Life

4

The nightlife is good. There is a lake in the campus around which students can hangout . There is a good canteen in the building which is open until evening. There is a volleyball court in the campus which can be used at anytime. Also there are some study rooms kept open all through the night on permission.
