Remarks

The placement statitics for MBA and M Tech are not that good considering the effort they go through. There is shortage of good playing grounds or the maintenance of the said playing grounds or student activity centre.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is quite flexible and encourages each student to face his or her weak points and work on it. Each subject of the semester has 100 marks, which is divided into 3 parts, 30 for Mid sem exams, 50 for End sem exams and 20 as internal assessment.

Placement Experience

The placement scenario is average. It is quite good for UG courses, but not good for PG courses. Yes, our provides internship, but mostly students prefer to go for project work. The stipend is good compared to other colleges and the research scholars and interns do not face any difficulties with regards to issues of projects.

College Events

Our college hosts a number of events every year, ranging from cultural fest like INCANDESCENCE, POSUA, INDIE UNPLUGGED to techno-cultural fest like TECHNOESIS and birth anniversaries of great people, leading to a large number of events throughout the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is something i cannot present my opinion about as i, due to economic conditions do not pay the tuition fee and am unable to state if it is feasible or expensive. Considering a person below 1 lakh annual income, it is feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not availed any loan from the college and am unaware about scholarships offered by the institute. However, the institute offers reduction in tuition money paid on a semester basis, depending on the annual income of the student or if thr student is PWD.

Campus Life

The extracurricular activities are organized on a regular basis and many different student activities are encouraged. The labs however are not well maintained and their is lack of equipments in the labs.

Hostel Facilities

There are 13 hostels in the campus and thr infrastructure is quite well. Everything from the kitchen to the playing ground is well maintained.The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the grass is cut on a regular basis.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are quite helpful in every aspect of our lives in and outside of the institute providing us mental fortitude and backing during hard times. The alumni network is also very strong and has helped numerous of our students during times of financial crisis.

Admission

After passing higher secondary exam, i applied for jee mains. The eligibility criteria for the test is the candidate must be of Science stream and must have more than 75%. After the declaration of results one must check if he has qualified or not, the former of which lets you apply for colleges based on your AIR.

Faculty

The faculty of our college is quite experienced. Though some teachers are not quite able to explain the concepts, majority are able to clear our doubts and help us tirelessly in excelling in their respective fields.

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

The students who are appearing for the 7th semester end term examination are eligible for the campus placement drive , eligibility varies as per the companies eligibility criteria, main factors are CGPA score of the particular student. There are many companies who visited the campus for placement drive but the main companies who visited for campus placement drive are : NRL( Numoligorh Refinery Limited) ,ONGC( oil natural gas corporation) etc , the highest package offered was 24 lpa by NRL and the offer was got by 8 students and the average package of our college is 7lpa approx

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.

I get this college after qualifying jee mains exam through josaa counselling. I want NIT Durgapur but I miss out by only 1500 rank . Before NIT Silchar I get NIT patna civil engineering in first round of counselling but due to better placement stat and campus I choose this one . My admission process is very smooth where the help desk counter and senior help new comer. On my admission day I also get my scholarship id i.e, roll no. Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

I chose this college mainly due to its large campus and facilites and decent placements. This college has a great alumni network and has the best clubs and societies among top colleges and also organises one of the best fests. I could have got a better college but my rank didn't allow me to secure admission into the top ones. Our college only accepts JEE Mains score as the admission criteria. I chose this college as NIT Silchar is an allrounder package, you want academics? Done! Fest? Done!! Every wing is awesome. From the very first being in my home state, it was the best college I can opt for after IIT Guwahati. I did got offers from other colleges government and semi, but NITS gave me my favourite branch and secured future. This college has a great placement records in PSUs for core branches and great IT sector companies for other branches. After jossa I applied in different nits as per my rank I got electrical Engineering department. NIT Silchar is one of the prestigious nits. As per nirf ranking it comes under 7th ranking. It has one of the top digital library where there are different books available. According to campus beauty it is the best beautiful campus. It has 18 lakes and a tea garden as well.
