Remarks

Well from academics point of view, it is great. But infrastructure is old and the labs are not modern, a new building is expected to run by end of this year. There are no extracurricular activities and there is no focus on sports

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is very diverse, as one has to have entire knowledge of human body and the subjects are anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, forensic, ENT, eye, PSM, gynae, medicine, surgery, pediatrics. The exams are held annually. Each subject has 2 papers A and B oh half syllabous and there is a practical

Placement Experience

4.5

The job is sure as India already has the shortage of doctors. it is a govt job. My college also provides internship. I am not an intern yet so i dont have the experience but one has to do a lot of work, thats sure. The internship is of one year and the stipend is 18,000rs

College Events

3

1. freshers- first function for a newly admitted student 2. Stimulus- annual fest of this college, which is a grand festival of 5 days and has many things to offer like cultural night, dj nihgt, star night , battle of bands, various competitions etc. 3. There are CMEs organised by different departments

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its a govt college so the fee is feasible, Tution fee is rs 60,000pa for 1st year and 50,000pa for the rest of the course Hostel fee is 24,400pa excluding food expenses. So one can easily afford to study in this college.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is one scholarship for the 1st three toppers of each batch. The scholarship is Rs 200 per month i.e. rs 2400 pa. There is no other scholarship that i am aware of. There is no loan facility that i am aware of.

Campus Life

3

There is no imp. extracurricular activity, it is only during some function and nothing else. In sports there is badminton, cricket, football. Badminton court is present in our college while for cricket and football we have to go to other college ground.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel infrastructure is old as it is an old buliding, the building needs renovation badly but it does not seem to be happening in near future. There is one basketball court and a table tennis. Every student has single room and thats great

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is diverse and has its foothold in north India. The director of AIIMS Delhi and PGI Chandigarh are our college alumni. As it is the oldest college of himachal pradesh , most of the doctors in the state are our college alumni. The senior students are really helpful and helps in the academics.

Admission

There is a national level entrance exam NEET. After the result each state makes their own merit list and the students are called for counselling by HPU. In counselling the students choose their college on the basis of their merit rank then after submission of the documents, they are alloted the respective college. Then the students have to come for a medical, then the admission process is complete.

Faculty

4

The faculty is great. There is no shortage of the faculty. They are well educated as all are themselves doctors. In each department there is an HOD and then there are associate professors, assistant professors , junior residents and senior residents.

MBBS is some course I don't think I've to define, it's low-key a noble profession and worth the hardwork you'll be doing throughout past few years of NEET-ug preparation and 4.5 years of MBBS. And superiority complex among yo relatives, hahaha????

Course Curriculum Overview:

Mbbs in itself is vast curriculum but it's interesting at the same time. We get to learn more about our body in first year through anatomy physiology and biochemistry. From second year onwards the preclinical subjects are more interesting one also the clinical postings make the cause much fun u got to see many patients and apply the bookish knowledge on the patients. Exams in mbbs are held from time to time which keep us going through the course very easily.
