IIT Delhi for B.Tech Mathematics and Computing offers a strong ROI due to its rigorous curriculum and excellent placement opportunities, with top companies like Jane Street offering jaw-dropping packages of up to 4 crores. The internship prospects are vast, and the financial rewards from quant firms are significant, making it a smart financial choice. In contrast, while DTU’s B.Tech Biotechnology has its merits, the placement statistics and salary packages are usually lower compared to IIT Delhi. So, if you’re passionate about mathematics and aim for high-paying tech roles, IIT Delhi is the way to go; however, if you’re leaning towards biotechnology and its unique career paths, DTU is also a solid option.

IIT Delhi's B.Tech Mathematics and Computing program stands out for its rigorous curriculum and high placement rates, especially in tech and quant finance sectors, which can lead to impressive salaries from top firms. The campus life is vibrant with numerous clubs and excellent faculty, ensuring a well-rounded experience. In contrast, DTU's B.Tech Biotechnology may offer a different type of academic experience, likely with a focus on biological sciences, but it may not match the tech-driven opportunities that IIT Delhi presents.

Personally, I'd lean towards IIT Delhi if you're passionate about mathematics and computing and looking for a career in high-paying tech roles, while DTU could be a good fit for someone aiming for a career in the biotech sector.

It really comes down to what factors you personally prioritize. Each option has its pros and cons, and often they balance each other out. Listening to your inner voice can be crucial; you want to make a choice you won't regret later.

Now, addressing your question:

  • Biotechnology: There isn't much scope for biotechnology and biochemistry in India. You shouldn't expect a high salary in this field. Most opportunities lie in research abroad. Honestly, many who pursue this end up in non-core jobs.
  • Mathematics and Computing (MnC): This branch typically offers better salary packages. But the real question is: ARE YOU REALLY INTERESTED IN IT?

If you're uncertain about your career path after these four years or haven't yet discovered your true interests, biotechnology might give you the flexibility to explore other areas since the course load isn't too heavy. Many students choose lower branches for various reasons. A major reason is the prestigious IIT tag. Others might pursue it to prepare for UPSC, CAT, or to start their own ventures. You can still find non-core jobs in the biotech field.

So, if you have even a slight interest in bio-science and related fields, you should definitely consider Biotechnology at IIT Delhi!

Mathematics and Computing is also a solid choice, but right now, Biotechnology at IIT Delhi stands out as the better option!
