Should I go for B.Tech Software Engineering in DTU or BE Computer Science in BITS Goa?

From what I've seen, BITS Goa for BE Computer Science might offer a better ROI compared to DTU for B.Tech in Software Engineering. BITS has a consistent fee structure with fewer hikes, which helps in planning finances better, while DTU charges around 2.19 lakhs initially with a slight increase yearly. Internships start early at BITS, giving students a head start, while DTU's opportunities depend more on maintaining a high CGPA. Scholarships are available at both, but BITS seems to have a more straightforward process.

If you're looking for a financial option with potentially higher returns and less fee stress, BITS Goa is a smarter choice. However, if you prefer a vibrant campus life with numerous fests and are okay with the fees, DTU could still be a great fit.

I faced the same dilemma last year: BITS Goa/Hyderabad CS or DTU IT. I opted for DTU because of better placements, and it's in Delhi. There are many great coding institutes in Delhi, which makes a significant difference. The Delhi factor also makes securing internships easier. Goa… well, you know what it's famous for! You'll definitely have a lot of fun there.

However, if you're considering further studies after B.Tech, like an M.Tech from a foreign university, the BITS degree—common across all three campuses—is generally regarded as better than DTU's degree.

Also, the absence of reservation in BITS is a HUGE DIFFERENCE, TRUST ME. At DTU, even the book bank is reserved for the first few days for SC/ST students. Some of those students come from wealthy backgrounds. You might not think this is a big deal until you see many undeserving students in the same batch. There are IT students at DTU who scored just 40 marks in JEE Mains. Plus, DTU feels a bit overcrowded, which increases competition.

It's a tough decision! I still can't decide if I made the right choice. Choose wisely!

I'd recommend BITS Goa if you want a head start on internships and better job prospects, while DTU is a good option if you value a strong campus culture and community.

The vibrant fests and diverse societies at BITS create a lively atmosphere that enhances networking and personal growth. DTU, while it has a solid curriculum and decent placement opportunities, seems to focus more on academic rigor and internships starting from the third year. BITS offers internships from the first year, which is a significant advantage for gaining early industry exposure. If you prioritize a lively campus life and early hands-on experience, go for BE Computer Science in BITS Goa; if you prefer a more structured academic environment with strong government support, then B.Tech Software Engineering in DTU is a good option.

In my opinion, BITS Goa CSE is definitely a better choice than DTU CSE, especially when it comes to the coding environment on campus. DTU is known for its core branches, but the atmosphere for CS is not great.
