The better closing ranks of DTU compared to NIT Kurukshetra and PEC, along with its location in Delhi, further support the argument for choosing DTU.

DTU's B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering really stands out with an impressive placement record, boasting an average package of 16 LPA and big names like Google and Microsoft recruiting regularly, while NIT Kurukshetra's B.Tech in Internet of Things, although emerging, doesn't have data to match that level of success yet. The internship opportunities at DTU are also top-notch, with significant stipends that attract many students, giving a clear advantage in real-world experience. If you're aiming for the highest job packages and a robust campus life with ample networking opportunities, DTU is the better choice; however, if you have a strong interest in IoT and prefer a newer field, NIT Kurukshetra could be a good fit, just be prepared for a different placement scenario.

Considering fees, ROI, and scholarships, I lean towards B.Tech Mechanical Engineering at DTU over B.Tech Internet of Things at NIT Kurukshetra. DTU has a total fee of around 9.5 lakhs for four years, which is quite reasonable given the exceptional placements—companies like Google and Amazon recruit heavily, with an average package of 16 LPA and top offers going as high as 1.8 CR. In contrast, while NIT Kurukshetra is a solid choice, it may not match DTU's robust placement stats and opportunities. If you want a clear shot at lucrative job prospects and a vibrant campus life, DTU is the smarter financial choice. If you’re really passionate about IoT, NIT could be good, but for overall value and return, DTU stands out.

No doubt, DTU stands high in terms of exposure and job opportunities as well as in research work. However, I feel that the growth of the individual is based much on their perspective and zeal to learn. I am concerned about the ideology of students in the engineering domain; many focus their studies solely on jobs and follow rote learning as a way out, which is degrading engineering standards. I would like to request all those reading this to focus on core concepts rather than cramming the night before exams and strive to create something respectable and worthwhile for society as a whole.
