B.Sc. (Hons.) Biochemistry is a three-year undergraduate program with a specialization in the inter-disciplinary domain of biochemistry. The minimum eligibility criterion which most of the institutes ask for is a score of at least 50% (relaxable for reserved category candidates) at 10+2 or equivalent level.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Biochemistry course admission is based on entrance exam namely Common Entrance Test (CET) including selection method as well as merit-based selection criterion that is the percentage of marks obtained at 10+2 or equivalent level by the candidate. My overall experience in this colleges has been good socially. There are many society too to get engaged with. You get good friends too and also not that much of a campus life as compared to north campus. But it is fine i would say as if you get into societies you'll be busy enough and engaged enough to have a blast in your college

Faculty

Faculty members of our college are good. They have good teaching methos and are friendly with us. The ratio of faculty to students are fine too. Exams are conducted at the end of each semester and internal exams also keeps taking place. our course has an exam of 60 marks each at the end of semester eith 40 marks for practical.

Campus Life

Cultural and art annual fest was held from 12th Jan - 15th jan. Every important day are celebrated like republic day , independence day etc.. Sports competition where held in November. There are good amount of books in the library, but the library is open only from Monday to Friday. We can take books as much as we want and the books should be returned after 15 days. Classrooms have projectors , lights and fans are provided in enough amounts . All the class room can hold about 70 people . Every sport have its own ground like cricket ground, football ground, basketball ground, tennis court etc..and it always open and we can play anytime. Extra curricular activities are promoted. There are drama club , dance and music clubs .they perform in every events. The campus is on a highway therefore we can't go near cities as we have to travel 45min to reach there. Only vegetarian food is available.

Faculty

Faculty to students ratio is low . There is no enough faculty. The faculty are good ,they behave nicely especially the faculties of chemistry and biochemistry are great at teaching and are friendly also. They don't provide us exam models or don't make us practice more questions. There are 3 exams in a sem. 2 CIA and 1 end sem exam (ese) . CIA is of 20 marks each and the ese is 60 marks . We need 14 marks from combined from both CIA and 21 marks from ese to pass the subject. The lab exams will be conducted parallely . The amount of students failing the exam is also very high.

Fees and Financial Aid

At first they took around 20 K including admission and then 10 K for the 2nd semester. 3rd and 4th semester was total of 30k. Exam fees is around 1000 rupees to be paid before semester to get admit card. Biochemistry, computer science and microbiology are the aided courses so their fee structure is more. For all other subjects semester fees is not more than 6000 INR.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is fine. We had three main professors, Dr. BSS, Dr. AB, and AB sir. We had two proffesor for chemistry. As I hated core chemistry, I didn't really interacted with them. Dr. BSS was our HOD at that time. She really invests her time and energy to make us learn practical techniques. I will be forever grateful to her for this.

Campus Life

Campus life at my college is vibrant and diverse, thanks to a wide array of clubs, social activities, and top-notch infrastructure. With more than 20 clubs to choose from, there's something for everyone to get involved in and explore their interests. The photography, Indian music, and art clubs stand out as the most popular, drawing students from all backgrounds who are passionate about creativity and expression. Being part of these clubs has not only helped me hone my skills but also given me a chance to connect with like-minded individuals and work collaboratively on various projects and events. Socially, the campus is a place where friendships blossom through shared experiences, whether it’s working together on club activities, participating in events, or simply spending time in the common areas. The diversity on campus allows me to interact with people from different cultures and backgrounds, broadening my perspective and making my college life truly enriching. The infrastructure here also supports an engaging campus life. State-of-the-art classrooms and labs provide a solid foundation for academics, while facilities like the library, tech centers, and recreational areas encourage both learning and relaxation. We have sports grounds, gymnasiums, and vibrant cafeterias, which contribute to a balanced lifestyle and create spaces for social interaction beyond academics. In essence, campus life at my college is a well-rounded experience, where social interactions, club involvement, and comprehensive infrastructure come together to create an environment that’s conducive to growth and creativity, preparing us for future challenges.

Faculty

Faculty and student ratio is different for every department in environmental science department there is two faculties only but college use to hire guest faculties so it's not a big issue. Faculties are really good you can talk with them freely specially i liked nandita Narayanasamy and Meenakshi kuhar ma'am our biochemistry department teacher and others department teachers are also good i know few chemistry department faculties also they are also very understanding. There is no one i don't like but there are some teachers who's strict about their practical and classes that's it. There are two exams for one semester one mid semester and the final semester and we have class assessment marks which includes attendance marks also . There are less number of students who use to fail but i don't have any data for that. Course curriculum is good except we use to get really hectic college life beacuse of sec and vac course .

Fees and Financial Aid

Students can apply for scholarship, i haven't did so i don't have any idea about that. When i got admission in clg i paid the fees was 19900 and we have to pay examination fee before exam it's based on that you have practical paper in your subject if you have practical paper it will be more or if you have only theory paper it will less and fees. Fees increases every year this year i paid 22,653 and for student who's parents are working in delhi university as a teacher or staff fees they have quota so they have to pay less amount than normal student i have no idea about how much they use to pay but it's around 5000 or 6000 only . For yhis i paid 22653 which includes tuition fees 300, university fees 2940, college student welfare fund fees 4300,college development fund fees 1800, college facilities and service charges fees 12613, weaker student support fund fees 700.

The faculty members are almost good. But there are some teachers who shout out of nowhere. The wont let you sit in the boys lawns. There are t-exams which are very important you have to qualify them anyhow. If you won't qualify them you are not eligible for the semester exams. There are almost 4 t exams in every semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

We almost pay 8 thousand yearly. But for the students who are having category have less fees than the general ones. There are also some scholarships for the category students like post scholarships & so on. Almost every ug source have the same fee structure. But for the pg i may vary.

Fees and Financial Aid

During my first year of college, I paid 19000 something. I was not told about the structure in elaborated way at that time. There was less information. During my second year beginning, I paid 22000 something which includes numerous categories such as tution fee of 600 only, it consisted of funds for college development and facilitates provided by college. There was contribution for ews also. I personally don't like the fee structure because the college increasing fees in the name of development every year. Regarding reservations, there was not much or frankly speaking negligible relaxation. Only the staff ward experiences relaxation, they had to pay less than 1000. Taling about the scholarship, the candidate must not be a son/daughter of government employee and should have yearly income less than 3..4 lakhs. There are other criterion also, but these two are major ones.

Faculty

Faculty members are really supportive. They are really good teachers whether its about academic data or life lessons. They are wonderfull. The course is divided into different papers for ease of study. Exams are comducted on semester basis in systematic way. Marking scheme is based on attendance, internal exams, assignments and yearly exams.

The campus life of Sarsuna college not so good. The department is remarkable but the campus is too mean for healthy students. They don't provide any common room, they don't arrange any type of fest for the college students. Sometime the relationship between the departments is not so good.

Faculty

The faculty in my department is very invested in their students and very helpful. To be honest it feels like they are more concerned about our future than we ourselves are.We are allowed to seek whenever we want during the college hours and not just during the lectures. Most of the teachers are friendly and always ready to help.Their are two semesters per year. The examination paper is generally made by an external teacher from another college so the degree of question paper varies according to that. They are generally fairly difficult but nothing too out of the syllabus or nothing more than the reaching capacity of the students.Although we all try our best but some students could get a backlog or supply which is taken before backlog. The number of backlog students is generally in my course is 4-5 from a batch of 23 students

Course Curriculum Overview

Biochemistry was something i always wanted to do since the day i remember. The curriculum hasn't made me regret my decision as of yet.As biochemistry doesn't just include biology and chemistry it consists of studying biotechnology, clinical research, microbiology, botany, toxicology so that if want to we could any of these too for our masters degree. The curriculum manages this shuffle very effortlessly and the teachers keep in mind to not skip the basics as the students with a weak or other lack of background knowledge don't face much difficulties. The only thing I don't in this curriculum is not having the option for choosing your side subjects as this is done in other colleges and University.Everyone has to the study the fixed side subjects every semester

Campus Life

• sabrang is the annual fest in my college. Apart from that departmental fests are often organised. Like my department's fest is biospark. • our library is one of the biggest libraries in the Delhi University. Separate AC readings rooms are present and books can be easily issued. • Infrastructure is not good as it is a old college. Newer building are fine though. • sports are actively exercised by students

Faculty

The course curriculum is usually similar to other colleges. Faculty to student ratio is 1:50. Okayish. Facilities of some department like biochemistry, physics, photography, so far is good. Some of them are approachable. They help in administration issues too. Although few faculty are rude and only like to talk about academics. Exams are not that difficult.you can easily score adecent cgpa.

Course Curriculum Overview

As a student of Biochemistry at Delhi University, I wanted to share my thoughts on our course curriculum. Honestly, I picked this course because DU has a great reputation for academic excellence and research. Plus, the curriculum looked promising, covering everything from molecular biology to genetics and metabolic pathways. The mix of theory and practical work, including lab sessions and research projects, really appealed to me.That said, there are definitely areas that could be improved. For starters, the curriculum could include more contemporary topics like genomics and bioinformatics. The field is constantly evolving, and we need to keep up with the latest advancements. I also think the teaching methods could be more interactive. Group discussions, case studies, and digital tools would make learning more engaging and effective. Our practical sessions are good, but they could be more diverse and advanced.

Faculty

The faculty of the biochemistry department is well-educated. all of them have done phd in their subjects. For one subject there are two teachers and total they have 7-8 teachers for all three years of biochemistry students and the total students are approximately 130_150 students. teachers are very friendly and strict also time to time. But one thing i dont like is they teach and behave like its a school and not college. but overall the teachers are very good and they teach you and also ask questions so that you do not have any doubt and if you're not able to give the answers then they'll ruin your day and also the whole class time. You can interact to them at any time after class in staff room or outside class to discuss study related problems and also your personal problems they will help you.

Internships Opportunities

When it's about internship, the professors provide various places for internships, students can also go for self internship, that's also allowed . But a certificate of more than 21 days is required for Bsc in our course. The the places suggested by the professors are a bit costly but still affordable and do much worth it because I'm doing internship right now under SeeCure lab, chinar park, and they're teaching everything and we're doing everything by our own hands

Placement Experience

The placements provided by adamas university are really good, it basically depends on the student and his own knowledge and skills, but still the placements of adamas are really good. For biochemistry, placements are good only after masters. After Bsc there are jobs but they won't pay that much which you can get after completing Msc. And there are very few jobs of biochemistry in India. But you'll have a great scope in abroad.
