Likes

College faculty is good, they behave politely.
There is a big campus where sports are held.
It is near the railway station, so there is no problem in commuting.

Dislikes

The area becomes a little deserted at night.
People around me behave a little strangely
Due to the presence of colleges nearby, room rent is quite high here.

Since I am a diploma holder in civil engineering, I had to choose the same branch in B.Tech also. But actually I chose this college because my diploma friends were taking admission in the same college. The college needs some improvements, but the surrounding areas need more improvement.

Likes

Classmates are supportive and friendly nature.
Campus is peaceful and good for studying.
Teachers are helpful and explain topics in easy way.

Dislikes

Infrastructure still need improvement etc....
Placements are not very strong right now.
Hostel facilities sometimes feel unmanaged

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the course curriculum decent because it cover the basic engineering concepts that made me choose this course and it prepare us okay for real-world or higher study, but still more practical work and updated teaching method needed, and exams come mostly every semester with some internals which are moderate tough but manageable with regular study. There are some teachers who teach very well and have good teaching methods.

A Real Student Experience at DEC

Likes

liked the peaceful campus environment and the friendly vibe here, it actually helps in focusing on study.
The faculty in mechanical department is supportive and they explain concepts in simple way which help in understanding.
Hostel life is good and students from different branches mix well, so the campus feels active and safe most of the time..

Dislikes

The infrastructure still needs improvement because some labs don’t have updated machines and equipment...
Placement support is not very strong and students mostly depend on off-campus chances which becomes little stressful
The campus facilities like Wi-Fi and classroom maintenance are not consistent and sometimes create problems for students..

I feel the course curriculum is okay and the basics are covered well, which is one reason I choose this branch, but some subjects feel outdated and not fully connected to real industry work. It prepare us for further studies more than practical jobs. Exams come every semester with internals in between, difficulty is moderate but few papers become tricky. I think more practical topics, updated labs and better teaching methods will make the curriculum more useful...

Likes

the structure and environment is good at this fees and the guards and staffs are very friendly
good and very franks students most of them are very friendly
the hostel is very good hostel staffs are also very kind

Dislikes

don't have proper timing for classes . anytime they can cancel classes
the teachers are not good in teaching and dont have good classrooms expect one building
office staffs are very rude and undisciplined

Placement Experience:

placements are basically good . if no campus placement is offered than student can apply off campus or can became enterpenur by learning the skills placements comes from 7th sem tcs,wipro,infosys,h4u,lawazia tech, ardent computech etc. offers made by seeing student's skill 9 lpa by tcs more than 30% becoming sr. software devloper

Life in DUMKA ENGINEERING COLLEGE

Likes

Everythibg good teacher and campus and everytbhing
Sometime you have to do is sleeing in freely bcoz al conceprs are clear
Campus placemets are very good you have got a job at the end

Dislikes

The whole thing is that you are taking admission in village are
Town is very far away from college and you have go for long to buy angrhing
And the railway station is very near and noise are too sounds

Placement Experience:

You become eligible for placement in campus selection from 7th semester of your 4th year onwards which is a very good thing and there is a lot of focus on your taking skills and profession skills in the college which will help you in getting a good placement.

Dumka engineering college Review

Likes

Well educated faculty. All the faculty have either btech masters or phd degree from either IIT or NIT
Provide sports facilites and it celebrate sports day and all.
Average campus life not that great but kind of a average campus, not too big campus but it do have some greenary and noise free campus.

Dislikes

Worst placement opportunities. This college have 10% placement rate .Literally no placement oppurtunites
No clubs and great fests happen in this college. Yes fest happen here every year but not that great to be honest.
Internship opportunities are not available . You have to be own dependent to fina an internship.

Course curiculum is provided by Jharkhand university of technology (JUT) . It is hard but you can pass the exam if you study well. It covers same subjects and courses as the other universities in india.

Dumka engineering college a hidden gem ????

Likes

Teachers are very supportive and we have very well maintained laboratories for each subject of each branch.
Teacher also inform about different kind of programs and internships.Each and every teacher is very sincere towards their respective courses.
The college environment is too good away from the city noise .clean and a place which is very very peaceful.

Dislikes

There is as such no thing that I should dislike... just want to say that u have to be careful in rainy season as there are so many reptiles roaming here and there.
One more thing our college should open their cafeteria as it is closed since a long time.
Rest all are good a sincere student can grab a very good package.

Placement Experience:

Companies do come our college for every branch and they give placement to our students. Companies like TCS,Wipro they do come . There are less placements in electrical branch only rest all the branches are good and well enough. If you have capability u can grab a good package from here average package is 6to8 lakh

Both pros and cons present in dumka engineering college

Likes

I really liked teachers , they are supportive, understanding and teach really good
I like ragging free campus and seniors behaviour
I really like notes provided by teachers which are based on jut syllabus and past papers

Dislikes

I think placements could have been better
I am dayscholer but most of my friends complain about hostel food
We strictly need to wear uniform which I dislike a bit

Being fresher I don't have much idea, my college follows jut syllabus strictly, TEACHERS ARE REALLY GOOD AND DEDICATED.... faculty members are very understanding and hardworking... COLLEGE IS REALLY GOOD AS FAR AS TEACHERS ARE CONSERNED

Not so much but yes the course curriculum. College life is Good.
Great faculties ready to help you all the time.
Infrastructure, libraries and Campus life is good, Of course not like IIT/NIT

Dislikes

Placement assistance is not upto the mark.
Don't expect infrastructure of campus like IIT/NIT
College location may disappoint you. Choose wisely.

The course curriculum is good and faculty members are also enough qualified. Most of the faculties are M.Tech passed and some have done Ph.D. From the 2018 session the semester exams are on time as it now comes under JUT.
