Rajiv Gandhi Institute of PetroleumTechnology providesseparate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Being a residential institute, it is compulsory for the students pursuing a course at RGIPT must avail the hostel facility. The hostel rooms are furnished withbed, study table, almirah, chair, fan and have adequate space with proper ventilation. RGIPT also provides mess facility with a seating capacity of 200 students. Wi-Fi and LAN facility is being provided to the students round the clock along with power back.

Likes

Mentorship is good here and professor is well experienced here some are new , the interaction with teacher is good .
There is a merit cum scholarship provided to students having a family income of less than 5 lakhs per year and who maintain greater than or equal to 6.5 cpi or above in 1st semester.
The most important thing i like of my college is its beauty.

Dislikes

Hostel life is good but outside college campus there is as such no happening life and inside hostel there is gym , commercial complex , football ground , basketball ground , and mess food quality is average not that good
I also don't like the faculty it is not very trained
No single room is in hostel for each year and college is in outskirts

RGIPT and its goods

Likes

My colleges mess food is very eatable and tasty
My college hostel infrastructure is gud because we have lifts
Placements are very hood for petroleum branch

Dislikes

Infrastructure of college is less better than teachers quarter
Placements are very bad for it branches mainly computer science
Very less size of campus with less exposure even outside the campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

Computer science is currently in craze within students giving jee advanced exam. So I also chose computer science and engineering in btech degree because of seach of higher placements and better job opportunities

Not good placements for technical Branches

You can easily get into any college club and council and get hands on experience of organi
College Campus was built in 2016 so infrasture is good
Hostels are also good and spacious as two student are alloted one room unlike old iits old hostels

Dislikes

Very Bad Placements for the technical branches.
The college campus is very small and away from the main city.
Coding culture is not that good as it is other colleges

Placement Experience:

In the 7th semester we are eligible to sit for placements.In CSE 14 out 60 were placed and not much known companies visit college.Highest on-campus was 10 LPA and average was 8.1 LPA ,with median 9 LPA.

Likes

The infrastructure is top notch including state of art laboratories
The campus is a total of 147 acres out which 47 acres is developed
Faculties are top notch and trained in every aspect

Dislikes

Parking is not good

Placement Experience:

Placements are pretty good in energy sector with average package of about 15lpa as of 2024,however the first batch of computet science graduated in 2024 , with an average package of 9lpa, which in that aspect is pretty good, also considering the fact that many students choose higher studies, it's even better.

My B. Tech College Review

Likes

Option to opt for minor degrees which is generally not present in many colleges
Being a tag of Institute of National Importance
PSUs come for placements, majorly petroleum PSUs

Dislikes

Peer group is getting worst each year just because of their option opting for taking admission through JEE Mains
Placements are not good as of first batch for CSE as well as Electronics.
Fees is a bit high as compared to resources provided

Placement Experience:

As far as i have heard, the placement scene for Petroleum and Chemical Students is the best in whole India after ICT Mumbai, whereas for electronics and computer science the placements are much bad and are expected to get better in upcoming years but the value of the degree is quite good as the letter of reccommendation of faculty could really help you get into foreign universitites as far as i know the HOD of CSE is soo good.

I liked the infrastructure of college especially because college is newly built classrooms are modern and spacious
Hostel building is decent, in room they provide table which is too good and different sports court and ground are also there
This college take admission on jee advanced rank so peers are good

Dislikes

Placement is pathetic here they do not have any dedicated placement support for Computer and Electronic branch especially.
Faculty is new so they do not know how to teach and what to teach they are just teaching random things
No single room is in hostel for each year and college is in outskirts

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I tell earlier course curricular, they teach material science and thermodynamic to CSE and ECE Students and sometimes the curriculum changes at the very last time and they introduce new subjects and electives are not electives that are compulsory subjects

Here the campus is clean , Wii fii is available in all over in campus and also it's speed is good , electricity is good here mess food is average, hostel campus is not conjusted
Class room , Library and labs is full of air conditioner
Fest is good and extra circulam activities is good

Campus is small so the buildings are connected here
Grounds is small so not comfortable for cricket and football
Neighbour market is very small so there is problem for buying things

Placement is good but only for chemical and petroleum students, placement is not good for computer science department, students are eligible for placement after 3 rd year means after 6 semester. Iocl Bpcl Hpcl Hmel TCS and many more companies

The most important thing I like of my college is its beauty.
Hostels are much much better than the other engineering colleges
Mess is comparatively good than other colleges

Dislikes

Placements are not as expected in institute of National Importance
College campus is not as big as other iits
There is no cafeteria in the college which is worst

Placements are average in my college. It is quite good for chemical and petroleum branches compared to tech branches as it is a renowned institute in energy domain. Students become eligible for placements from 7th semester. Companies visited: BPCl, HPCL,ONGC,REZYLYTICS,SUNPETRO,SHELL,ALGOATE AND many more. Highest package: 24lpa, average package:10lpa For chemical and petroleum 96% placements and for tech first batch is yet to pass in 2024. My plan is to get a placement in one of the big MNC's

Likes

Hostel facilities like bathrooms and washing machine
I also liked the Campus which is Small but beutiful
Mess food serving delicious food and managed by a comity of students

Dislikes

i don't like the peer group here they are not very supportive here
I don't liked the management here which is very strict towards providing holidays
I also don't like the faculty it is not very trained

Placement Experience:

The placement scenarios for Chemical and petroleum are very good but we don't have the record of cse, and IT branches since the first batch of these branches is in the final year. but, if we look at the T&P cell of the college it is not doing good in terms of efforts

Hostels- very good and well clean hostels
Mess food - Better than many of colleges

Dislikes

So much of strictness for gate paas , and after 8pm you can't go outside
Campus size- only in 47 acres . No playground for cricket

Placement Experience:

WELL .... Till 2019 this was a petroleum and chemical branch college only. But from 2020 other branches also got introduced. Cse first betch is going to paas out in 2024 itself. So placement season has started..no such placement has happened as of now in cse Brancu.. chemical branch students get very good placement here. Most of the psu come here and select good number of students also , on a vey good salary

Faculty staff all are good and supportive hostels are well maintained

Placement Experience:

For chemical and petroleum branch companies like ONGC, byjus, oil, shell, Gail, and LnT visits, and average placement is nearly 12lpa with about 82% of students getting placed For other departments no batch has been passed yet so can't say anything.
