RGIPT B.Tech Eligibility

• The minimum eligibility for B.Tech is 60% aggregate marks in class 12th (55% for SC/ST candidates)
• Candidates having color blindness are not eligible for Petroleum Engineering but they can apply for Chemical engineering.

RGIPT B.Tech Selection Criteria

The selection will be solely based on the JEE Advanced rank. Moreover, the selected candidates will be called for RGIPT Counselling.

RGIPT B.Tech Course How to Apply?

To apply for B.Tech, candidates have to follow the below-listed steps:

1. Go to the official website of RGIPT
2. Click on the “Admissions” tab and select B.Tech course.
3. Now click on the “Apply Now” tab.
4. Fill all the details such as name, date of birth, mobile number email ID, etc,
5. Proceed to pay the application fee.
6. After making the payment, register yourself online
7. Now fill your personal details and educational details along with the details of JEE Advanced exam.
8. Also, upload scanned images of photograph (less than 50 kb in JPG format) and signatures (less than 20 kb in JPG format).
9. Preview your application after filling all the details.
10. Submit the application form.
11. An email and SMS will be sent in case of successful payment and form submission.
12. Lastly, take a printout of your application form

Mode of Payment - Candidates can pay the application fees via online mode as well as offline mode. Online payment can be done through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking while Offline payment can be submitted through SBI Bank Challan.

RGIPT M.Tech Eligibility

The eligibility for M.Tech varies according to the specialization. Applicants can check the eligibility below:

Eligibility for Petroleum Engineering

Candidates must have a B.Tech. or B.E. degree in Petroleum Engineering with a first class or at least 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (55% marks or 5.5 CPI for SC/ST students).

Eligibility for Chemical Engineering

Candidates must have a B.Tech. or B.E. degree in any of the following course tabulated below with a first class or at least 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (55% marks or 5.5 CPI for SC/ST students).

RGIPT M.Tech Selection Criteria

• Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology considers a valid score in GATE exam for shortlisting students.
• Those who get shortlisted are called for Written Test and PI.
• However, the final selection is based on the GATE score, performance in Past Academics, written Test and PI.
• The selected candidates will have their names mentioned on the merit list.

NOTE - Sponsored candidates does not require a GATE score. For such applicants, selection will be done on the basis of Written Test and PI round.

RGIPT M.Tech Course How to Apply?

Applicants have to fill an online application form in order to apply for the course. The steps to apply are listed beneath:

1. Go to the official website of RGIPT
2. Select the M.Tech course option
3. Now click on the “Payment” link provided under the section of How to Apply.
4. After 24 hours of successful submission of application fees, click on the “Apply Online” link
5. Now fill all the required details in the form.
6. Once all the details are filled preview your application.
7. Finally, hit the “Submit” button to submit your form.

Mode of Payment - Students can pay the application fee online through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card as well as through Bank Challan System.

Documents Required

Along with an application form, candidates have to submit various documents which includes:

• GATE Scorecard
• Class 10th and 12th Marksheets and Certificates
• Graduation Marksheets and Degree Certificate
• Category Certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates
• In case of OBC, submit the Non-Creamy Layer Certificate and a Self-Declaration
• Physically Handicapped Certificate
• Sponsorship Certificate and Employer Consent for Sponsored candidates
• Declaration/Undertaking form by the candidate

The eligibility for the course can be found in the following points:

Eligibility for Regular Candidates

• Candidates must have qualified B. Tech / B. Engg in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Petroleum Technology & Chemical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or any one of the following degrees with at least 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (55% marks or 5.5 CPI for SC/ST/PwD Candidates)

• Candidates with other degrees/Nomenclature are not eligible.

Eligibility for Sponsored Candidates

Sponsored candidates should have a work experience of 2 years in the Sponsoring organization.

RGIPT M.Tech (RGIPT-EIB) Selection Criteria

• Candidates are shortlisted based on their score in GATE exam.
• Further, the screened candidate have to take Written Test and appear in the PI round.
• RGIPT will finally select applicants depending upon their Past Academic Record, GATE score, performance in Written Test and PI.

RGIPT M.Tech (RGIPT-EIB) Course How to Apply?

It is important to fill the online application form to apply for admission in the course. Desiring candidates have to follow some simple steps to apply which are mentioned as follows:

1. Go to the official website of the institute
2. Click on the M.Tech (RGIP-EIB) course tab.
3. Now click on the “Apply Now” link under the section of “How to Apply”.
4. Enter all the details correctly.
5. Pay the required amount of application fees
6. Finally, submit the form
7. Also, take a printout of the submitted form.

Mode of Payment - Students can pay the application fee in both online and offline mode. Online Payment can be done through NEFT while Offline Payment can be done through Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology”, payable at Bangalore.

NOTE - Candidates should mention their Name, Address, Phone number, and Email ID on the back side of the Demand Draft.

RGIPT MBA Eligibility

Those who wish to apply for the course must possess the following:

• Candidates must have passed 10th and 12th with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PH candidates)
• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PH candidates)
• Also, candidates must have a valid score in any of these exams CAT/XAT/CMAT/GATE. 
• Final year candidates are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates have to produce a certificate stating that they have completed all the requirements and has obtained 50% or equivalent grades in all the years.
• Candidates must have full-time work experience of 2 years at the time of applying for admission.

RGIPT MBA Selection Criteria

For selecting applicants, RGIPT follows a criteria as mentioned beneath:

• Firstly, the institute considers the CAT/XAT/CMAT/GATE score, Academic Performance and Work Experience for shortlisting students.
• After shortlisting, screened candidates will be called for WAT and PI.
• Those who will perform well in the above rounds will be selected for admission.
• The institute will prepare a separate merit for selected candidates belonging to the General Category, Scheduled Caste Category, Scheduled Tribes Category, OBC Category and Physically Handicapped Category.
• Further, applicants will be required to pay the fees as notified by the institute to secure admission in MBA.

NOTE - Company Sponsored candidates are exempted from CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT.

• RGIPT will activate waitlist(s) on a notified date to fill the vacant seats, if any. 
• On receiving intimation of the admission offer by notice/email, the waitlist candidate is required to secure his or her admission as per the given instructions.

RGIPT Ph.D Eligibility

The minimum requirement for all specializations and their disciplines are tabulated below:

NOTE - Final year students can also apply, however, their admission will be subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree 

General Eligibility for Ph.D.

• Candidates must have passed Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology with first class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST/PwD) or CGPA/CPI of 6.0 and valid GATE score

OR

• Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree with first class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST/PH) or CGPA/CPI of 6.0 and a valid score in GATE can apply.

OR

• Those who have qualified a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a first class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST/PH) or CGPA/CPI of 6.0 and have a valid score in GATE/CSIR/UGC/NBHM/DBT/GPAT/Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship/Maulana Azad National Fellowship/DST Inspire Award or any similar Fellowship are also eligible.
• The eligibility for external/company sponsored candidates will be a minimum of two years full-time work experience after B.E./B.Tech. or M.Sc. in appropriate subject area.

RGIPT Ph.D. Selection Criteria

• Firstly the institute shortlist candidates on the basis of the following exams for different Disciplines or Research Areas 
• GATE for Material Science and Renewable Energy
• GATE/NET for Petroleum Engineering, Geology & Geophysics, Geoinformatics, Chemical Engineering and Electrical Engineering
• GATE/CSIR/UGC/NBHM/DBT/GPAT/Maulana Azad National Fellowship/DST Inspire Award or any similar Fellowship for Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Biology Science, English, Sociology.
• CAT/GRE/GMAT/NET (UGC/CSIR) for Management Studies Specialization
• The shortlisted candidates then have to be present for Written Test, Presentation and/or Personal Interview.
• The final selection will depend upon the above rounds.
• RGIPT will publish a merit list for all the selected students.
