AISSMSCOE: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 12 Reviews

Admission to this college is based on the MHCET or JEE exam scores, managed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) in Maharashtra. The process typically involves 2-3 rounds, with direct second-year admission possible for diploma holders. The college features a skilled faculty, mostly PhD holders, maintaining a favorable 1:4 faculty-to-student ratio. Fees are structured by category: open category students pay 1,50,000 INR, OBC students pay 80,000 INR, and reserved categories such as SC/ST/NT pay only 500 INR under the TFWS scheme.

Scholarships, including the MahaDBT scheme and EBC, are available to support eligible students, significantly reducing costs based on income and category. The college is NAAC accredited with an A+ grade since 2019, which has led to fee increases. With a strong placement record, 60-80% of students secure jobs, with top companies like TCS, Infosys, L&T, and Wipro offering salaries between INR 3 LPA to INR 25 LPA. Last year, the placement rate was 78%, with the highest package at INR 21 lakh and the average between INR 4 and 6 lakh annually.

Over 100 companies visit for recruitment, although some students pursue off-campus jobs. The college has a placement cell and internship opportunities, though support is sometimes limited. Students become eligible for placements typically after the 6th or 7th semester. Despite higher tuition of INR 1,36,000 compared to some peers, and additional charges for amenities, the college provides quality education, albeit with limited financial aid and placement services.

AISSMSCOE BE E&TC FAQs

Ques. What is the difference between MHT CET and JEE Main for admission to BE E&TC at AISSMSCOE? Which one should I prioritise?

Ans. For Maharashtra State Candidature candidates, MHT CET (PCM group) is the mandatory exam for admission to BE E&TC at AISSMSCOE. JEE Main is accepted for All India Candidature (AIC) seats, and for AIC candidates, JEE Main score is given preference over MHT CET. If you are a Maharashtra domicile student, focus on MHT CET; however, a good JEE Main score can also strengthen your position. Note that MHT CET 2026 now offers two sessions (Session 1: April, Session 2: May), and the best of the two percentile scores is considered for admission.

Ques. What is the actual fee I need to pay per year for BE E&TC at AISSMSCOE under the CAP/merit quota?

Ans. Under the CAP/merit quota, the FRA-approved fee for AY 2025-26 is Rs. 1,41,739/- (Tuition Fee) + Rs. 21,261/- (Development Fee) = Rs. 1,63,000/- per year. A one-time Caution Money Deposit of Rs. 1,000/- is also payable at the time of admission. The total programme cost over 4 years comes to approximately Rs. 6,53,000/-. Management quota seats carry an additional one-time Management Seat Fee of Rs. 4,89,000/-. Fees for AY 2026-27 are subject to revision by the FRA.

Ques. Is hostel accommodation guaranteed for BE E&TC students at AISSMSCOE?

Ans. Hostel accommodation at AISSMSCOE is available on a first-come-first-served basis and is not guaranteed. The college has a total hostel capacity of 150 seats (for boys and girls combined), with 40 seats reserved for COE students. The hostel fee is Rs. 1,05,000/- per academic year, payable in two instalments. Students are advised to apply for hostel accommodation as early as possible after confirming admission. The hostel is well-regulated with canteen and mess facilities.

Ques. What are the placement prospects specifically for BE E&TC graduates from AISSMSCOE?

Ans. AISSMSCOE has a dedicated Training & Placement Cell that facilitates campus placements across all branches. E&TC graduates from AISSMSCOE are recruited by companies in the electronics, embedded systems, VLSI, telecommunications, and IT sectors. The college's location in Pune, a major hub for electronics and IT companies, provides good exposure to industry. While branch-specific placement data is not separately published, the college reports an overall placement rate of around 53% (as per FRA data). Students with strong fundamentals in embedded systems, signal processing, and communication are typically well-placed.

Ques. Can I apply for the TFWS (Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme) seat in BE E&TC at AISSMSCOE? What is the process?

Ans. Yes, TFWS seats are available in BE E&TC at AISSMSCOE. Under TFWS, the entire tuition fee is waived for the duration of the programme for eligible students. To be eligible, your annual family income must be up to Rs. 8 lakh, and you must secure admission through the CAP process based on MHT CET merit. You need to declare your income and submit the required income certificate at the time of CAP registration on the CET Cell portal. TFWS seats are filled as part of the CAP rounds, so there is no separate application process.

Ques. What documents are required at the time of reporting to AISSMSCOE after CAP seat allotment?

Ans. After receiving a seat allotment through CAP, you must report to AISSMSCOE with the following documents (two sets of photocopies + originals): Receipt/Acknowledgement from the e-Scrutiny Centre, JEE Main/MHT CET Score Card, HSC (12th) Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate, SSC (10th) Mark Sheet, School/College Leaving Certificate, Nationality Certificate, Domicile Certificate or Birth Certificate, Aadhaar Card, and category-specific documents such as Caste Certificate, Caste Validity Certificate, Non-Creamy Layer Certificate, and GAP Certificate (if applicable). You must also fill the online admission form on the college ERP portal (admission.aissms.org) and pay fees online before physically reporting to the college.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees are too high compare to other colleges of the domain. the college fees are 1lack 36thousand whereas other colleges such as PICT has only 1 lack, PCCOE has 1lack 18 thousand, DY Patil has 1lack 20 thousand only. Also, the college charges extra money for many other things such as for dress for the gym for project making etc. Scholarship programs are only for the reserved category such as for ST fees is only 4000 and for SC it only 8000. Also, for the economically backward class, there is a 30% fees waiver and to avail of it, you have to fill the form with some documents. The colleges do hikes the fess every year for the newcomers. The college does not provide, it has a placement and training cell if you want to do any internship you have to find it yourself. No financial Assistance is given mostly and also the official work is too headache and do not have good service.
