- Great faculty and amazing Infrastructure( Big classrooms and halls). The university is so big it took me a whole week to navigate.
- Technology ( we are taught on such big screens )
- It literally has everything. So many outlets of food, a walk-in clinic (doctor), ATM’s , libraries , a very small lake, greenery (Very beautiful)
Dislikes
- Extra-Curricular activities( I haven’t been presented with any clubs and opportunities in which I could take part in)
- York is very boring, a typical all theory university and no fun and experiences.
- Some professors have given me a hard and bad time unnecessarily.
Campus Life
- There are 3 main campuses of York university. One is Keele, Glendon and Markham. I am in Keele campus. There are many spots to visit like York lanes, a small lake , Tim Hortons mostly everywhere. I honestly haven’t been a part of any extracurricular activities because we are not told about it or informed.
- My university has many beautiful libraries, a proper walk-in clinic in which we students get free consultations via the guard me health card that york gives us.
- I have hardly seen York organizing fests or events because they haven't done anything for us till now. Though the university has an amazing gym and pool and playing activities.
Fees
- Since, it's my very first course at York university. The fees for my course was $19000 plus taxes. When I was in India my counselor suggested that I pay full fees so that there is no issue in the visa. So, that is why firstly I paid $5000 to fix my spot at the university. And then later I gave my full fees. However, in my second course I have decided to pay semester-wise since I already have a visa now.
- I live in a shared accommodation which is affordable so I pay $550 as my rent which is quite good. The transportation can be expensive so I have a transit pass for TTC bus which costs me $120 per month. Apart from $200 on the groceries.

Likes
- I liked the supportive learning environment at my university.
Dislikes
- One of the things I disliked was the curriculum of the courses, it was pretty basic and easy, did not really add a lot of value to my knowledge.
Overview
I chose to come to Canada primarily because of the fact that my family was moving here. I chose to study at York University due to its Goodwill and name in the market. My overall experience was a little below my expectations as the course did not really add to my current knowledge base.
Campus Life
School of Continuing Studies has one allocated building in the York University Keele Campus. It is a big building with nice infrastructure and big class rooms with projectors. The students of School of Continuing Studies also have the access to the Library of York University and the Tait McKenzie Centre which has all the recreational activities like gym, swimming pool etc.

- Good program and under budget plus good location easy to travel since subway at the university to ise plus bus standes and housing is also good plus food
- I like my colleges infrastructure and how is it was to travel around Toronto due to travel facilities around campus. Also the food available there is very good since there are alot of options and it is cost effective. Also walmart is very for buying groceries and online groups for finding housing is very helpful there.
Dislikes
- Nothing everything is good except from snow that can be very handful and not good. Try layering and keep a helathy diet. Plus carry multi vote with you since you don’t get many sunlight during winters and it gets night around 4:30 pm also there is take care of your food since there is chances you can loose wait there due to walking in classes.
Overview
My college experience was very good and i made food friends and had a very good experience and had fun got a lot to learn . Plus the environment good in summers but in winter do layering plus have a daily schedule planned out on the basics of classes and the rest would be very good
Campus Life
I didn’t do that extracurricular activities but campus life is good good restaurants on campus plus campus life is very good with events and like frosh where you can make friends within courses plus the housing is very good and efficient

- It had the course I wanted to do and I wanted to transfer from my existing University of Waterloo. University of Waterloo is very hard.
- I really liked the exposure I got being a student in one of the most esteemed and diverse university in Canada. I learned a lot about different cultures, nationalities, and society in general. Academically stimulating discussions and work opportunities kept us on our toes. I improved my communication skills and learned a lot about my subject of choice. Leaning to live alone and be comfortable with yourself is the key to mental peace. Giving time to our mental health and exercise was preached by every uni counselor and senior.
Dislikes
- I hated that the academic stress got too much and we let it interfere with our peace. I also hated the extreme competitiveness of the all the international students. I disliked the gap in communication and underlying discrimination caused by our Indian accents. Even other Indian students are rude to you, if you are not up to date with the slang, or the local culture. We have to put in a lot of effort to fit in, which causes a lot of stress.
Overview
The overall experience at the University of Waterloo was not very good. I got academically burdened and faced a lot of obstacles in finishing my degree, which led me to transfer to York University. It could have been a much better experience if I knew how much academic stress I was going to face. There is a huge difference between studying in a college in India and studying in a University in Canada. Social life plays a very important role in keeping your sanity and not feeling homesick. International students must know how to manage their finances, cook good food and be regular at exercising and gym. Keeping a strong balance between work and study is essential too. More than anything else university in Canada taught me a lot about being independent and living a healthy adult life.
Campus Life
Campus life at the University of Waterloo is very depressing and tough. The clubs and student council events try their best to make students feel at home and involve them in activities, but overall academic pressure is too much. On the other hand, York University has a very diverse array of activities, and the Academic Pressure is not too much. York also provides a good balance between events on Campus as well as having fun in the City.
Overview
I chose this university because of the location of the institute, the course, and the business school. Overall experience is good. Infrastructure is good. Campus is good. Cheap food options. But jobs are not available neither part time nor full time. That's a little disappointing. Apart from that professors are excellent and are very helpful.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty happening. We have clubs like marketing association clubs, supply chain and operations management club, case analysis club and more. We have Scott Library. There we get cheap print outs. We have TAIT Mackenzie center for sports and recreational activities.
Overview
I had to submit an online SOP before the arrival of the offer letter. The main point of SOP is to be true to what you want and emphasize your skills and curiosity to learn. Additionally, u would just need a transcript certificate from your previous college My university experience was great as I got to learn many new things and get a chance to interact with people from all over the world.
Campus Life
Our university is so happening we organize many events under different clubs and organizations. We have game rooms , a library, a gym and many more.

- It was very close to me and not much of a commute. The program itself was very easy and offered a lot of scopes.

The university offers a lot of clubs and they help with CV. Along with events and EC.

- MBA was a stepping stone to my career to pivot into strategy sector and Schulich has been a school famous for strategy consulting sector
- The brand name associated with the school is something i love about. The school has some amazing courses taught by industry leaders from different countries. These professors have over 15-20 years of industry wide experience before they set their foot in teaching
Dislikes
- The school is academically rigorous which sometimes is good however might be a burden for students applying for Fulltime/ Part time jobs. The University is a little away from downtown region of Toronto where most of the companies are located
Overview
Overall I would say it was a life changing experience when it comes to Schulich School of Business, York University. The staff is welcoming and never I felt I was in a different country because of the people around.
Campus Life
York provides dearth of resources to students starting from books, newspapers access and what not. Campus has its own housing along with wifi and utilities which comes under fees
Likes
- Its reputed business school in Canada. Also, the location in Toronto which is financial city of Canada.
- Curriculum and team work in assignments was good part of the master program. Built good relations while doing team work in projects. This program also holds monthly industry sessions, which help students to gain knowledge about various fields in finance.
Dislikes
- Not much diversity as lot of students are Chinese in class. Its hard to socialize with them. Also, university doesn't help you to get placed in company after completion of course. For international students, it's really competitive to get the job after Masters.
Overview
Overall, it was an interesting experience due to new culture, new friends. On the academic front, I learned a-lot through case studies, projects, group assignments. I feel program length should be more than 12 months as it becomes very hectic for international students to manage all the workload.
Campus Life
Since masters finance is 1 year program, there are not much extracurricular activities. However, student can participate in MBA games, or join fitness centre etc. in the campus.
