- MBA was a stepping stone to my career to pivot into strategy sector and Schulich has been a school famous for strategy consulting sector
- The brand name associated with the school is something i love about. The school has some amazing courses taught by industry leaders from different countries. These professors have over 15-20 years of industry wide experience before they set their foot in teaching
Dislikes
- The school is academically rigorous which sometimes is good however might be a burden for students applying for Fulltime/ Part time jobs. The University is a little away from downtown region of Toronto where most of the companies are located
Overall I would say it was a life changing experience when it comes to Schulich School of Business, York University. The staff is welcoming and never I felt I was in a different country because of the people around.
Course Curriculum
The course followed by Case studies were a great learning opportunity for me to experience and explore different sectors and industries.
Exams
GMAT (ranging from 640-740) , Essays, Letter of Recommendation and Video interview. Essays (usually consists of questions which changes every year) , LOR. I had a final interview round with the admissions team which generally was around my working style and how do I handle pressure during my work tenure. The interview is basically a behavioral interview to check if you are good fit for the school.
Placement
The placements are pretty smooth because of the brand name. The average salary is around 85000 CAD. There are different companies visiting the campus depending upon the industry such as Bell, Rogers, Deloitte, EY, RBC, Scotiabank, TD bank etc. School has a portal where companies listings come.
Internship
I interned at Deloitte Consulting. The company comes to campus for hiring which had an application process

106000 CAD tuition and 20000CAD living expenses
Scholarship
10K CAD is the entrance scholarship I got.
Faculty
A class usually consists of 35-40 students depending upon the course. M&A is one of the famous courses offered by the school which is a must take.
Campus Life
York provides dearth of resources to students starting from books, newspapers access and what not. Campus has its own housing along with wifi and utilities which comes under fees
Hostel
The average rental expenditure for university housing is around 800-1400 CAD which includes wifi utilities etc. These ranges consist of single as well as sharing options.
