What Students Say
Likes
- The faculty is experienced and industry practitioners.
- The way courses are structured such that passing is very easy but acing is difficult.
- Learning experience involves case method, class discussions, opportunity to develop soft skills.
Dislikes
- The school has low diversity.
- Not enough focus on group activities outside of school work. Schulich MBA ropes in only pro sports individuals.
- Low utilization of ancillary business that support the York University ecosystem as a means for intermingling.
The experience was enriching and pro academics. The B-School maintains a diversity in age groups even though the diversity in nationalities is fairly limited so international exposure is lacking to an extent. Overall a student expects to attend one event a month with the diverse cohort. Overall I would rate the experience 8 on 10.
Course Curriculum
Course curriculum adapts to changing markets and economic scenario to prepare students to new job opportunities. Course books are good if one actually goes through them.
Faculty
1. All the faculty are industry practitioners with considerable experience. 2. In the online/ in-person lectures some were able to tailor the questions to students who did not know the subject matter from previous educational experience, which bridges the gap for career switchers.
Campus Life
The B-School has all the facilities. York University is well equipped too.
Placement
In Europe and North-America jobs need to be pursued. There are a lot of companies that visit the campus provided there is no epidemic.
Accommodation
The university has apartments not hostels. They are priced reasonably low. Monthly expenses are manageable if students are not extravagant on a daily basis.
Exams
GMAT, GRE are the main exams that students need to ace; Acceptable scores are in a range. Must include a C.V and a CL in the application. The C.V should emphasize on college degree grades and work experience. The cover letter should talk about ones experiences in life in general ( difficulties, aspirations, goals). There were 2 rounds of interviews ( recorded, online).
Fees
CAD 104,000.
