What Students Say
Likes
- It had the course I wanted to do and that allowed me got the designation in my field. It was also in the city I wanted to stay in and seemed like a good choice based on rankings.
- Awesome teachers, great study resources and materials, good lectures, fair assessments, great atmosphere, good transportation, good set of peers, constant feedback, easy to cope curriculum, good school life balance.
Dislikes
- Dicey on value for money, at least my course. I really can’t say much since I attended it virtually due to Covid-19 so school of continuing studies, York University was pretty much a great place to start my journey in Canada.
Required Exams for Admission
Overall, it was great learning experience with enough time left to pursue other opportunities and also it was good to have a base on their way of doing things before joining the workforce.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum was very relevant and had real life implications. It was also a base for professional designation so it allowed students to attain the designation that was valuable in the country.
Faculty
The faculty was I believe one of the best part, they were very engaging and respectful. They allowed inclusion and classes had different activities which never made it seem to repetitive or boring.
Campus Life
I didn’t really attend in class course due to Covid, but I am pretty sure they had made a new building when I joined which has all the latest technology and great atmosphere. I also believe York in great in terms of infrastructure and experiences.
Placement
Again I attended it virtually and therefore there weren’t much placement activities at the time but I’m sure they generally so have a good amount of opportunities for new grad.
Accommodation
I live alone about 30 minutes from campus in a studio condo and pay about $1650 in rent and almost $350 in utilities & groceries. But that’s not a norm you can get a more affordable place near campus if you want to share. The Toronto housing market is a little dicey so you can stay a little outside of it on more affordable housing. The transportation for most part is well connected enough that you’ll be able to manage.
Exams
At least a 3-year degree & IELTS overall 7.5 with no score being Lower than 6.5. No interview was required for my course.
Fees
18999 CAD for a year long program.
