SKUAST Jammu Ph.D. Admission 2024
SKUAST also offers full-time Ph.D. programs in three specializations, namely, Allied Science, Veterinary, and Basic Sciences.
Candidates who have completed a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline and secured a minimum of 65% marks are eligible for admission to the Ph.D. course. Selection is based on performance in UG and PG examinations and also performance during interviews and counseling rounds.

SKUAST Jammu Application Process
How to Apply for SKUAST-J CET?
- Visit the official website of the college.
- Click on the “SKUAST-J Common Entrance Test (CET)-2021” link and fill the form carefully with valid credentials.
- In the first part, fill in all the personal details cautiously and in the second part, fill in your educational details. Make sure the name and other details are filled in BLOCK LETTERS.
- In the next step, add your photograph and signature as required.
- Verify all the details and finally, submit the form.
- The application fee of INR 1800 is now to be paid via Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
- Take print out of the confirmation page(s) of the online application format and preserve it for future reference.
- The Admit Card can be downloaded from the University website.
Counselling Process
The candidates must come for counseling along with all documents in original, a set of attested copies of all documents, the admit card issued by SKUAST-J and a counselling fee of INR 1000 (nonrefundable). The documents include:
- Permanent resident/domicile certificate
- Date of birth certificate (Matriculation certificate)
- Marks certificate of qualifying examination
- Category certificate, if applicable
FAQs
Ques. Are there hostel facilities available?
Ans. Yes, there are four hostels (two each for boys and girls). All the hostels have sufficient rooms with adequate furniture and fixtures.
Ques. Can NRI Candidates also apply?
Ans. Yes, NRI candidates must submit a copy of their qualifying examination marks sheet duly verified and certified by the Indian Embassy/High Commission in the country of their residence, stating that such examination is equivalent to university prescribed qualifying examination of Indian Boards/Universities.
Ques. If two candidates receive the same marks, what is the order of preference?
Ans. For undergraduate courses:
- Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology/or Mathematics
- Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in aggregate.
- Candidates older in age to be preferred if points as per (i) and (ii) are equal.
For postgraduate courses:
- Candidates obtaining higher marks at graduation level
- Candidates older in age to be preferred if points as per (i) are equal

I applied for thappar institute, Chandigarh university and SKUAST. I was selected in chandigarh university and SKUAST but I chose SKUAST because it was really close to my home and second of all it was a govt. agriculture university.
To get into SKUAST you have to give SKUAST JAMMU CET exam and on basis of it you can opt for you course of interest.

I applied to skuast - jammu. i cleared their entrance test and there i got rank 79 n i was getting subject of my chice so i selected this college
I didnt got rejected from other college, i have cleared 3 entrance exam i,e skuast-jammu, SHAUTS- Allahabad, NAUNI - Uttrakhand but i was getting subject of my chice in jammu only, so i joined jammu
One has to apply in university website, to fill the form when admission starts, after form filling which include all the edicational details,address, permanent address etc, after that u will receive admit card of exam date, one has to visit university to give exam after that when result comes one has to visit university for the counselling anf all furthder procedures

The students can apply in this university through cuet exam conducted by skuast jammu which also include negative marking i.e 1/4mark will be cut on every wrong answer and then final selection list prepared and according to the marks of students he/she will be choosen in various fields

I applied for different universities during ICAR couseling but I got a seat in this particular college. I choose this college for the Pharmacology and Toxicology department due to the facilities and area of research available here. Admission procedure is through ICAR AIEEA PG exam held every year and also by state level SKUAST CET exam organised by the university. Overall Admission procedure is simple and hassle free

After my 12th examination, I go through the crash course for JKCET Exam. At that time JKCET Exam for all courses MBBS, BDS, BVSc, and BSc. Agri. And engineering in different fields. In the entrance examination, I got marks but exact I dont remember, i was selected in BSc. Agriculture and in physiotherapy but my seniors advised me BSc. Agriculture is good. I got selected under the SC Category. The duration of BSc in Agriculture is 4 years. So I did a BSc. Agriculture in She-e- kashmir university of Agriculture and Sciences and Technology Jammu.

No, there is no practical examinations. You must qualify for the UET entrance exam to meet the SKUAST Jammu admission criteria for the Ph.D programs, after the entrance exam the institute conducts a Research Aptitude Assessment (RAA), and the candidates are shortlisted based on their scores in UET and RAA.
