SKUAST Jammu Faculty: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 20 Reviews

The faculty at this college is highly qualified, with all professors holding PhDs or post-doctorates and possessing significant experience in their respective fields. The faculty-student ratio is favorable, and instructors are approachable, supportive, and knowledgeable. Lectures are interactive and involve practical knowledge, often supported by seminars, guest lectures, and presentations. Each semester includes 11 to 12 courses with 20 to 30 lectures per course. The examination system comprises midterm and end-term exams, which are moderate in difficulty, and practical exams are also conducted.

While most students pass, about 20% may fail the exams. The faculty is cooperative and committed to timely administrative tasks and result declarations. The diverse faculty, originating from various parts of India, enriches the learning experience, although there are occasional concerns about some faculty members' engagement levels. The campus, equipped with libraries and laboratories, provides a conducive environment for learning and research.

Most of the faculty members dont take classes but they all are very aproachable it is just that they will always keep you hanging for a while even for small works but at last they will definetely help you one way or the another. due to this you can use your precious time to see the campus as it is pretty big and you can also go to the library or the labs to continue learning things. Exams are not that tough, you will et the course syllabus afor all you semesters at the starting and even if you go through the syllabus mentioned thouroughly you will be able to get good marks in your exams the only part that is a bit annoying about the exams is that your end term exams are dont have any breaks in them that means if you have given some exam today you will be giving the next exam the very next day without any days for preparation I think.

Faculties are always available for students, Relationship among student and faculty is very friendly. every one enjoys the class session. its very good environment there My Mentor Amit sir, he is such a simple personality with immense knowledge. His guidance is top notch. he understands every concern deeply and make the entite curriculum a fun Every faculty there is a source of motivation, there is no one whom i didnt like Semmester wise exams are there with 2 class test within each semester. Exams are moderate level few questions are tough one needs to study well to clear exam with good marks. Most student clear the exam. hardly among 60 students 2-3 students fails. Couse curriculum is very relevant to pratical life. it teaches u on ground experience when combined with practicals

The facility members are well educated , belonging to various divisions like agronomy ,plant breeding, biotechnology, soil science ,etc the courses are taught through ppts which have sented by professors a day before presenting it . The presentation is more interactive between students and professors,so to make it 2way process of education then the mid term exams are held in mid semester and then end term through offline mode

Faculty:

Faculties are well experienced in their respective fields with many of them having international training experiences as well. Students are taken good care of while maintaining healthy atmosphere for study and research. I personally likes faculties of my own department which is division of veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology where both the professors are well trained and helps students with dull dedication during their research work. There is no such faculty which is bad here. Every department has experienced and good professors and the choice is on students whom to take as guide. The exams are semester wise in Post graduation with 1 internal exam during the semester and a final semester exam. Nearly everyone clears the exam during post graduation and the level of exams is normal.

The faculty to student ratio is good but their is a need of new teacher in near future due to the increase in number of faculties. The teachers are very helping and humble. Intraction of teachers and student is more often for masters and phd schloars rather than undergraduates.

Faculty to student ratio is good , if a teacher is absent the class is taken up by co instructors. Some faculty members are very enthusiastic and supportive whereas some are very negligent about the course of students . Interaction with teachers is quite good you can interact to them whenever you feel like interacting.
