Government Degree College for Women was established in 1979. The aim and purpose of this institution is to give thorough and sound education. The faculty members who are working in this institute have their most sacred duty not only to educate the mind but also to mould the character of the students entrusted to their care and initiate students to be ready to shoulder responsibility of the society and maintain a high standard of honor and integrity in life.

The college has a dedicated NSS Volunteers Wing Working under two programme Officers which has earned great appreciation from the General Public.

Government Degree College Women, Anantnag - My experience.

Likes

The college has good washroom facilities, great playground, canteen and so on.
The college campus is very beautiful and has big 4 buildings.
The college has anti sexual harrasment cell, debates and seminars cell and the faculty is fabulous.

Dislikes

The college is located on the side of main road which has huge flow of traffic. Hence the classrooms are not very quiet.
The college campus does not have enough trees to make it more beautiful.
The college should be having better drinking water facilities.

Admission:

Apart from this college, I applied to GMC, Srinagar and SKIMS. But I got a confirmed admission only from this college. Yes I got a rejected from other colleges because I couldn't score enough in JKCET entrance exam. The admission process is very simple. Students can seek admission through CUET. Followed by that, one has to go for document verification. The overall admission experience is good and the faculty is actively helpful in that.

Government Degree College for Women- Academically marvelous with good infrastructure.

Admission:

Apart from this college, i applied to SSM College of Engineering. I faced a rejection from there. I didn't make it there because i wasn't able to secure enough points. These days the applicants need to qualify CUET to be eligible for getting admission in this college. After that the applicant can apply by visiting the college, choosing their stream and paying the requisite fees. The overall admission experience is smooth.

Admission:

This College was near to my house, so that's why I choose this College and I hope that I could have chosen some other College rather than this College worst management worst faculty, and worst campus So disappointed
