Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology because drugs and medications fascinates me. The curriculum is well structured preparing the scholars for real world challenges. Scholars can get jobs in various pharmaceutical companies as well as drug regulating government bodies. This curriculum is a bit difficult in comparison with other fields because of vast information and syllabus related to drug mechanisms and Toxicology.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are good and well equipped with all basic amenities. Mess food is decent Registration for hostel takes place after getting admission to the college on the basis of availability of rooms. There are single seater, double seater and NRI quota rooms available in the hostel. The price is affordable for hostel. I live in college hostel situated in the campus itself.

Admission

I applied for different universities during ICAR couseling but I got a seat in this particular college. I choose this college for the Pharmacology and Toxicology department due to the facilities and area of research available here. Admission procedure is through ICAR AIEEA PG exam held every year and also by state level SKUAST CET exam organised by the university. Overall Admission procedure is simple and hassle free

Faculty

5

Faculties are well experienced in their respective fields with many of them having international training experiences as well. Students are taken good care of while maintaining healthy atmosphere for study and research. I personally likes faculties of my own department which is division of veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology where both the professors are well trained and helps students with dull dedication during their research work. There is no such faculty which is bad here. Every department has experienced and good professors and the choice is on students whom to take as guide. The exams are semester wise in Post graduation with 1 internal exam during the semester and a final semester exam. Nearly everyone clears the exam during post graduation and the level of exams is normal.

Night Life

3

Hostel contains Gym facilities and college library is one of the best attractions of the campus. A cafetaria is also present near dean office. Campus timings are from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. While hostel timings are 7 pm for girls and 9 pm for boys hostel considering the matter of safety. Jammu is only 20 kms from the college campus where one can visit a large no of temples and monuments. The locality is safe to roam around at night only upto 11pm because of the distance from international border is only 10 kms.
