At undergraduate level, Kalyani University offers B.Tech in two specializations, B.Ed, B.P.Ed and Integrated M.Sc. course at UG level.

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination i.e. the ‘10+2’ examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode. b) Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above three subjects taken together. c) Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks.

• For B.Tech., admission will be through entrance and counselling by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WB-JEE)
• For B.P.Ed, candidates need to appear in entrance test, that consists of Games and Motor fitness test.
• There will be no entrance test for admission to the 5-Year Integrated M.Sc. Course in Statistics. Admission is on the basis of marks obtained in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.

Kalyani University offers a wide range of Postgraduate level courses under various specialization subjects. The university provides M.A. degree under 12 different specializations, M.Sc. under 15 different specializations and M.Tech. under two specializations.

• The Entrance Test for various Post-graduate courses in Science, Arts & Commerce, MRDM, M.Ed., M.Tech. in Environmental Management will consist of only a written test.
• For M. Tech. in Communication Engineering admission will be through Entrance Test and Interview.
• Admission to M.Tech.in Computer Science and Engineering course will be done through written test and interview conducted by the department. Preference will be given to the GATE qualified candidates.
• For MCA, students will be admitted through state level examination (JECA) conducted by Joint Entrance Board, West Bengal.
• For MBA, admission of candidates will be through CMAT/MAT/CAT/JEMAT Examination followed by Personal Interview and Group Discussion. Candidates appearing interview should bring valid CMAT/MAT/CAT/JEMAT Score Card along with their original credentials.
• For admission to the department of Visual Arts, selection will be on the basis of merit of the qualifying exam including performance of the written test and interview test.
• Admission to the department of Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology is done by an entrance examination conducted by the university.
• For MFA, admission will be through entrance test and interview.

Kalyani University offers both Ph.D. and M.Phil. degree under 76 different specializations. The duration of all these programmes is around 2-5 years.

Admission to Ph.D. and M.Phill. Programmes is done by Kalyani University Research Eligibility Test (KURET) / EEARP/ KURAT followed by Personal Interview conducted by the university.

Admission to the D.Sc. / D.Litt. course will be open to those who have a Ph.D. from this University or any other recognized university. A candidate possessing only Master’s degree or equivalent degree may also be considered for the D.Sc. or D.Litt. provided that his/ her already published work is certified by an expert committee as of outstanding merit and equivalent to Ph.D. thesis.

A candidate shall be exempted from appearing in the EEARP provided that he/she —

1. has qualified in NET/SLET/SET/GATE /KURAT/KURET or any other National or State level test for pursuing teaching or research.
2. was admitted through entrance test in M.Phil/M.Tech. course (other than five- year integrated M.Tech. course) and has obtained M.Phil/M.Tech. Degree from this University or from any other University/Institute recognized by this University
3. is a whole time teacher of this University or any other University / Institute recognized by this University
4. is a whole time teacher of Govt./Govt. aided College

A candidate shall be exempted from appearing in the M.Phil. Admission Test provided that he/she has qualified in NET/SLET/SET/GATE /KURAT/KURET/ EEARP or any other national or State level test for pursuing teaching or research.
