3

Teaching methods can improve a little as well as lab facilities and availability. Course Curriculam and Syllabus is excellent and moderated based on requirments howeven dessertation works could be a helpful addition.

Fees and Financial Aid

The College offers affordable courses and provides good facilities for the fees range. Students can be expected to pay around Rs.10,000-Rs.16,000 per semester which sums up to around Rs.20,000-Rs.32,000 every year. The college does not have hostel facilities. Lab fees and other facilities are included within the semester fees. The fees are expected to be paid in full before results of the semester are displayed. The admission fees is around Rs.2000 and an additional Rs.50 is needed for i-card. Examination fees are included within the semester fees. This fees criteria is for General Catagory. Campus Life

1

Campus life , Extracurricular activities, Social involvement and campus culture in this college suffers alot with no annual fest and no club activities. College authorities are not at all interested to evolve that part.

Admission

I applied to other colleges for english, biology , economics etc. I even got into FDDI, NOIDA in footwear designing however biotechnology was a field I was really interested in and wanted to pursue so when I got into this course , I did not look any further. Also this paired with the fact that this college is really close to my home and is affordable, I chose this college

Faculty

4

Faculty is really helpful, nice and friendly. The professors are qualified and provides good course based knowledge. The faculty to student ratio varies depending on the number of admission every year but on an average there are around 4 professors teaching 32 students. Honourable mention to Sashwata Mukherjee, our HOD, Reeta Das, Swarnali maam and Sandipan sir, they have provided us with so many opportunities and facilities and taught us with utmost dedication. Till this date they look out for us and gives us career based opportunities. There are 2 semesters every year and 1 exam per semester . Every Semester also has an internal exam , the marks of which are added in the final result.

Night Life

1

There is no nightlife in the college. No gym, club, or extracurricular activities. It is a day college and college closes around 5:30pm and no students are allowed in the campus after that. There is a poorly maintained cafeteria in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

The Physical Chemistry faculties are the best I got, that influenced me to carry forward my research carrier in Physical Chemistry. The curriculum for the Physical and Inorganic chemistry are upto the mark and I felt improvement in teaching style and curriculum is required for Organic Chemistry part. The difficulty of Internal examination can be improved a bit.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.
