Sometimes Over class hours, like 5-6 hours continuously classes & practical
Having a Long Summer & Puja Vacation , we miss college & classes that time

I choose this course as I like physics very much and I wish to make my career on research & general lines. In our batch, we are 21 students who come regularly, the faculties are 6, whereas 2 lab attendants. All faculties are MSc and 4 of them have PhDs. Yes, in our college it takes an internal exam & that's very tough.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are basically available. But as we are physics Students, we will to have higher studies Like an MSc degree and also to do a PhD. Being dedicated to these we want to do higher studies. The internship is better available here as compared to many more General Colleges. We do projects like in our 6th semester we have to do a big project. And we are doing like that many more.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is approximately 2500-2600 including 2 semesters. Being a fully government college, the fee structure of our college is very low which every family can afford. Yes, we get an SVMCM scholarship 18000 per year from the state government. And that's enough for our study.

Campus Life

Our college is all about study, extracurricular activities, seminars, sports, etc. Our college has a regular seminar. Almost 3/4 days in a week seminar is done by several departments. I am indeed a member of Standard Clubs & Science Clubs in College. Seminars by the Bureau Of Indian Standards are often done.

Admission

Yes, ABN Seal College is a very reputed college. The admission process was nice. The counseling process was very smooth and it was clear and transparent. My name came in the late lists by willing method. I expressed my willingness as per as notice.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think I'm a curious student. Integrating biology with technology is interesting Recently we are studying animal tissue culture plant tissue culture which is superb. Generating a plan from a single cell is truly something interesting. I was drawn to genetics and biotechnology application . This curriculum prepares a student for research and industrial purpose . We get to do lab experiments project work under professors. In my opinion improvement can be done by industrial visits Exams take place at the end of each semester and we have mid sems in between

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

Placement Experience:

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements. Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. I wish to explore my options after completing the degree as of now.
