Likes
- All the big brands and big tech giants come to the campus for great opportunity opportunity for students you can apply for placements from the fifth semester itself.
- College provides a lot of scholarships like merit cum means scholarship, inspire scholarship, and fee waiver scheme.
- The faculty members are really good as they are great researchers in their respective fields.
Dislikes
- But, if we talk about scholarship then it's a bad news that there is no institute scholarship for unreserved students but u can get it for other organisations like nsp.
- The hostel rooms are also not good enough and lack cleanliness sometimes and have broken chairs/ tables, etc. at times.
- The academic workload can be sometimes demanding, not always but sometimes, leading to stress and pressure among students.

- The campus of the college is very beautiful
- There are ample places to play various kinds of sports.
- Everything is present inside the hostel itself from canteen to essential shops.
Dislikes
- There is a toxic work culture among peers and we see that everyday.
- The place is remote so there is not much to explore outside the campus
- There is no lift in the hostel so people in the 4th and 3rd floor have to climb one by one.
Placement Experience:
From the 5th sem people sit for internships and in the 7th and 8th sem they sir for placements. Major companies like adobe Google Microsoft and others hire from here and more than 12 people grabbed 1crore plus offer this year.more than 80 percent students get placed here in the campus.My plan is to go in to consulting companies or do an Mba.

- Campus life which is greatly amazing and everyone should live it once
- Infrastructure is so good ever after being the oldest IIT
- Faculty is greatly admiring and helping towards students learning
Dislikes
- There is nothing much that i would say as i disliked
- Campus is too big so you can't live without cycle
- But cycling is good for health too so not a dislike
Placement Experience:
Campus placements are very great at IIT KHARAGPUR as yu know it is one of the top IITs so a lot of companies visit and give out great packages to the students. However it is a tough time when placements do happen but with patience and good work you will get a job.

- I loved the campus and its size, it is the biggest IIT in India and it is also a green campus. This is much better compaired to other colleges in my humble opinion
- I also loved the senior junior interaction and the most helpful seniors that I have ever got
- The number of socities at IIT is also great and they have a society for every hobby one can possibly have
Dislikes
- There is nothing that someone can dislike about this place except for reservation to get admissions.
- There is again nothing that anyone can dislike.
- There is again nothing to dislike about IIT. I wish I did not have to type this 3 times
Placement Experience:
I am just a fresher and placement is a matter of third year. I don't have the accurate information but it is undertaken by CDC of campus and they have all the know how to make some students place comms and conduct the process. As per my plan, I plan to pursue my studies further and become an expert in this field to land myself a decent package and learn coding just in case. However, everyone gets placed in our college (almost)

- Most of the peoples talks in only English
- Very high price of food in hotel near campus
- Very high price of touto that charge many rupees for only some small distance
Placement Experience:
I do have not depth knowledge of placements but I share what is shared with us by IIT KHARAGPUR Students become eligible for internships in 3rd year when they are selected via cgpa and their interview.
And students became eligible for placements in 4th year. Various companies come to campus for placement. In 2023 the highest package is 2.63 crore per annum.
Approximately 75% of students get placed. After my degree, I am planning for my own start-up.

- The number of choices in career that a IIT offers is just unbeatable . You can be placed in any field regardless of your field.
- Campus Culture of IIT KGP is just best to make you social with a very large community.
- Societies and clubs offer quite high soft and hard skills depending on your intrests and capabilities.
Dislikes
- Avability of time is very less in IIT KGP which is why you have to be fast.
- Competition that we faced in JEE is still continued here at IIT Kharagpur.
- Morning classes are just so irritating since we sleep very late at night due to other campus involvments.

Course Curriculum Overview:
My Course is B.Tech in Mining Engineering and it is a quite good Non-tech field, also has lots of scope in India as well as abroad. There is enough faculty to clear all the doubts of the students. All the faculties are helpful. There are 60 students in a class in every department.

- Great student quality which includes prodigy from various parts of India.
- While the entrance exam is very tough but the culture is not limited to only academics . One can pursue their passion here if they want to.
- The quality of classrooms and the freedom they provide .
Dislikes
- Bengalis and students from south India tend to form their own groups.
- No city life . Kharagpur is only known for its railway station and this IIT.
- Competition is too much and it becomes toxic afterwords.
Placement Experience:
7th semester for Btech students and 9th semester for dual degree students.
Various companies like Microsoft, Google, McKinsey, and offers are around 1500-1600 including all the companies.
The highest package was 2.68 cr for the 2022 - 2023 placement season and the average was around 15-16 lakhs per annum.

My plan after my degree is to continue with my job.

- I liked the infrastructure and beauties of this college
- You can called our college a mini town because its spread in more than 2250+ acre
- Seniors are so helping in our college if you in any society you will learn a lot of things
Dislikes
- Sometimes if you do something disrespectfull with seniors. They can destroy your career
- This campus is so huge and we have only bicycle to ride
- After 1st year if your attendance is not good they will treat you as a duffer
Placement Experience:
I am enrolled in a 4-year btech course. So I can sit for placements in my 6th semester. If you are enrolled in a 5-year dual degree course you can sit for placements in your 8th semester. More than 500+ companies come to our college for placements. All big companies like Amazon, google, tomato, etc.

- The 2000 acres campus where you roam with your friends making memories
- Some places have a great infrastructure like ADDA, Nalanda complex, Nehru museum
- Faculty and TAs are very helpful in everything rather than studies
Dislikes
- Snakes roaming on the road mostly during rainy season scares me alot
- The distance between hostel and Nalanda classroom tires me
- Hostels need to be renovated at regular intervals

Placement Experience:
For 4 years BTech students get eligible for the placements after 3 years and many got PPO, pre-placement offers during their 3rd-year internships.
Names of the companies visited are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, JPMorgan, and many other giants along with mass recruiter. The number of offers made is more than the number of students. The highest salary goes in crores and the average is around 25 LPA.
The percentage of students getting placed is around 80%.
My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.
