Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

Campus placement is top notch it is one of the major reason why I choosed IIT BHU. All the big companies visit here there are so many I cannot name all of them. This year 80 companies visited on day one and made 547 offers with highest being 1.68 cpa for more info you can also check the instagram page of mediaclub.iitbhu . If you want specific details you can also check on college pravesh this site data is accurate. Last year about 81% students were placed. I am not sure for myself but I may prepare for government jobs cause the environment is best to Crack government jobs or any software based job I can also go there.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements of our iit is really excellent. Students start getting their intern from 5th semester. Placements start in last year. This year in 2023, a lot of top companies came in the campus and made their offers. On the very first day of placement the no. of offers made were above 350 and the highest package was 1.68Crpa and the lowest was around 12lpa. Almost all the students get placed.

Likes

The Senior Interaction in this college is really great. There is nothing like senior junior here.
The placement of this college is really great . Nearly everyone here gets decent placements.

Dislikes

There is not much reasons to dislike this college but the campus security can be enhanced.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have Mechanical Engineering department because of the College reputation and mainly because of my rank . The course curriculum is not very rigorous and tough , If the student is willing to learn it is very easy to crack the course of mechanical engineering here at IITBHU. The faculty here is very understanding and supportive. The faculty student ratio is approx 1:20 which is very decent. Like every course in this course there is Midsem and Endsem exams which are very easy to pass.

A small tour to our college

Likes

Kashi Vishwanath temple inside campus have very good day begginer.
It also have very big gym and also an separate gym for girls.
New hostels are very large and attractive.

Dislikes

Open campus is a big issue there which we dislikes.
There is lack of air conditioning in classroom
There is little big issue in security department.

I liked the behaviour of our college staff.
Our college placements are very good and high.
I love my campus life, we enjoy a lot their.

Dislikes

I don't like infrastructure of college, it is very old.
College medical facilities are not much nice.

From 8th semester students are eligible for college placements. This year around 964 students have been placed with highest package of 1.68 CR and average of 12.5 Lakhs per annum. Lowest package was 7 lakhs per annum

Placements are amazing.Our college comes in top5 in this aspect
Student and teacher friendly relations provides comfort to new entrants

Infrastructure is not comparable with other IITs
Our college has not closed boundary wall to seperate it from nearby institutions

Life at iit bhu

Likes

I liked the faculties of iit bhu as they are very knowledgeful and helpful
The cultural image of iit and it's sports festival spardha
The playground here are also very good and always well maintained

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the college is very old
The campus is a open campus which sometimes creates crowd
The local people sometimes steal and security is slightly weak

The campus placements of iit bhu are also very good due to a strong alumni network as it is 100 years old.All leading companies come here for providing jobs.The highest package is 1.68 crore and average is 22 lakhs per year

Food quality - food here is delicious unlike other iits like kgp and roorkee
Faculty - faculty here is very supportive.
College life - college life is nice here. There are temples around and many places to visit

Dislikes

Open campus- yeah the campus is open so anybody can enter here.
Hostel rooms are somehow small for freshers

The collaborative environment and cutting-edge research opportunities at IIT BHU fostered my intellectual growth. The availability of diverse academic programs allowed me to explore interdisciplinary fields.
The campus infrastructure is impressive, with well-equipped laboratories and libraries, providing an excellent environment for both study and innovation

Dislikes

The bureaucratic processes can sometimes be slow, which can delay administrative tasks and responses.
While the faculty is knowledgeable, I feel there could be more industry exposure to align the curriculum with current market trends.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT BHU are commendable. Students become eligible for campus placements in their final year. Top companies like Sun Pharma and Dr. Reddy's visit, offering roles in research, quality control, and production with offers reflecting industry standards. The highest package can soar above 20 LPA with averages around 8 LPA. Over 75% of students secure jobs, with many opting for higher studies or entrepreneurial ventures. Post-degree, I plan to work in pharmaceutical R&D, leveraging the hands-on experience and industry connections gained here.

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

What are the views of IIT-BHU students about Kashi Utkarsh?

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
