TNAU provides a lot of facilities for the students by building a technology-friendly environment in various locations on the campus. The provided facilities are:

Library: The University Library houses a total collection of over two lakh documents comprising books, theses, journals, and compact discs in the fields of Agricultural science, Agricultural engineering, horticulture, literature and social sciences. All in-house operations in the library are fully computerised using the Koha software package that also provides web-based access to the online catalogue of the Library.

Health Centre: The University dispensary supports the health care activities for the students and staff members of the campus. The centre provides medical care for all common ailments, chronic diseases and medical emergencies. Screening camp for students for gynaecological ailments and eye camps is regularly conducted in association with a specialist health centre.

Hostels: The University's main campus has separate hostels for boys and girls with requisite infra-structural facilities. There are six hostels for boys and four for girls, supported by a modern kitchen cum dining hall. Additionally, Norman Borlaug International Hostel is available for accommodating International students and professors' quarters for visiting fellows and external experts. A refreshment home is also functioning to cater to the food needs of the day scholars, staff and visitors.

Internet Facility: To get hands-on experience with the latest technologies, all the colleges have very good infrastructure with advanced laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, etc. All colleges are now equipped with the latest computer products and internet connectivity. Additional resources such as printers, wireless internet connectivity (wi-fi zones) for use in laptops are also provided by the colleges. Smart classrooms have equipment such as laptops, cameras, printers, projectors, etc. and are readily accessible to students.

Ques. What is the SMEP cell in TNAU?

Ans. To enable PG students to write a thesis that will be totally competitive and publish in better journals, it is necessary the establish this wing, which will undertake language editing and technical editing for the research papers prepared by the students for publication in peer-reviewed journals. A separate wing on the Scientific Manuscript Editing & Publication Cell (SMEP) was established at the School of Post-Graduate Studies. And also, to improve the student thesis standard and to avoid duplication of research work, a centralised Anti-plagiarism check for postgraduate students was introduced, and this task was continued through the Scientific Manuscript Editing and Publication (SMEP) Cell by “Turnitin i-thenticate Urkund” software. The maximum permissible level of plagiarism for the master’s and Doctoral students is 30%. If the similarity level is more than 30%, the students can resubmit their manuscripts a maximum of four times. The students/faculty's research articles can also be checked by using this software.

The environment of the college campus feels so refreshing.
The facilities related to the curriculum are all well provided
The extra curricular activities such as sports , culturals are very well encouraged

The students' strength per classroom is super overloaded with 240 students studying in one department per year, more than 120 students per classroom and this is the worst
Also in practical batch, more than 60 members per batch and you cant even listen to the specimens and lectures
The dont have concerns on the students stress and health, class schedule will be hectic and you will have more work to do it , you will have no free time,

Students view on course curriculum

I joined this course by compulsion. Preparing the students for real-world applications is a big question mark as here the students are already burdened will tons of work. The curriculum covers 10 different courses for each semester; half of them are not necessary. It would be good if they were intended to give deep knowledge on important subjects rather than shallow knowledge on all the unnecessary syllabus. You will be having exams at every months interval.

Various companies recruiting from the campus , highest and average package being offered per month

The students are eligible for placements after completion of the course Some of the companies visited are The Garuda, a drone company, and a company named The Signs group The highest package is 40000 rupees, and the average is rs 5000 to rs 25000 Barely 20 Percent of the students are getting passed My plan after getting the degree is to pursue an MBA in IIM institutes

Fees of the course per year and scholarship available in the college

The registration fees will be 20,000 at the beginning. The fees for each semester is 20,000 Rupees, 2 semesters per year , so the fee is approx.40000 year. For first-year graduate students, a reduction of 4500 will be available. Post-matric scholarships, special scholarships, and community are also available for the students.

Various events and facilities available in the college

The club inauguration and validation functions are held in June and July, respectively. Apartments from that, there is the Pongal celebration in January, Sangamithra in August, and Muththamizh Vizha in May The college library is one of the largest libraries, and it contains a huge number of books covering various domains. The classes are smart rooms combined with audio and visual aids The sports and extracurricular activities are well and good

Facilities provided in the college hostel and its fees per month

The hostel facility is one of the worst provided by the University. They accomodate 5 students in a room where only 3 can live. The water availability is not regular, you have to adjust with what they provide. Meal quality is not that good and the menu is not correctly planned The registration process will be combined with College admission, and the hostel fee is approximately 5000 per month

Students view on faculties and examination of the college

Most of the facilities are helpful and friendly; yes, you can approach them for any of your doubts related to your career. My favourite faculty members are Dr.Sivakumar Sir from the Crop Physiology department and Dr Ramasubramani Sir from the Extension department. We have 3 exams per semester: A mid-semester, a final practical, and a final theory. As per my knowledge, around 10 percent of students fail to clear the exam.

Admission Process of the college

I applied to PSG college of Engineering as my intrest falls on the engineering side but due to my parents compulsion I joined here. Here, the admission process is simple. You will have to attend the counseling, and once you are allotted to a particular college, you should attend the registration process. That's all.

Various facilities and hangout places near by college premises

The gym will be available for students from 5-8 pm, and the library will be available throughout the working time of the day. The hostel timing for girls are 6.30 pm and for boys 9.30pn Brookfields, Marudhamalai temple, Kumaraswamy lake, and movie theatres are all available near the college

Vanavaryar Institute of Agriculture was a pure class!

Likes

Our college is affiliated with TNAU and is one of the best in agricultural related fields.
Girls were more than boys in our college and that was the biggest plus.

Dislikes

It was so remotely located that we had no choice to hangout off campus.

Admission:

Admission was through the university counselling as very limited seats are there and therefore admission becomes tough. Our college is one of the best but sadly it was in a village so not many students show interest and therefore admission becomes easy as 80% or so is the cut-off to get admission here.

No , all the college are best only I have applied a councelling and got a place in these college , I don't feel it for it because it gives me a more life lessons and how to survive the real word how important are agriculture and their commodities

More rules to go home in holidays.. Hate the rules

• I got this college in counseling. I expect any government college but I got tnau affiliated college due to less cutoff. And I got engineering collegein counseling.. My family doesn't allow to take engineering course.. So I decided to take agriculture course

Likes

The greenery nature and the refreshment area
The well experienced faculty and our botanical garden.
The girls to boys ratio is 70:30 ratio in our college.

Dislikes

The uniform in our college. The practical knowledge is not enough.
There are more number of students in our college. The facilities is not sufficient for us.

Admission:

This is the top universities in Tamilnadu. 12th mark is enough for the admission in this college. The cut-off mark is about 195 for MBC Category and 197 for BC Category and 189 for SC Category. And for engineering Student the cut-off is about 178. For the other state students they need to write ICAR exam for the admission. I choose this college because of the top 1st in Tamilnadu. The college fest and cultural are more in this college than other colleges and college timing is also more than other colleges.

My college My experience.

Likes

Girls to boys ratio is 70 :30 . Nowadays girls re more interested in farming so in our college there re more girls.
The cultural events, pongal celebration, the club etc . There are more agricultural fields are here which I love the most , the natural infrastructure is so pleasent.

Dislikes

Here we don't have more buses for tour , because they give all the buses to our subcampus , so we have only 2 bus for our university, it is insufficient for our strength.

I choose this college over others because of the infrastructure and agricultural fields they have . No other agricultural College will have this much infrastructure. Admission process is based on the cut off taken by us in 12 th grade , we have to apply for this university and course and than based on youd cutoff and category they choose you .

We have good fitness centre, swimming pool etc
Best campus with wide spacing for enjoyment

Dislikes

Insect collection and herbarium is good experience but lack of time mKe ith worse one

I'm joined here through icar quoto . My aim was to crack neet ; but unfortunately i couldn't crack it and fortunately i got icar and i got here ;i understood the importance of agriculture in todays world

How life works in TNAU Coimbatore

Likes

We have botanical garden which is very refreshing and so good for outing
The campus have insect museum and also we have practical learning courses
The campus is having a large area so we could roam around

Dislikes

Here we are not having any student union and all so rights are not getting that properly

This college is providing a professional degree and this college ranks in 5th in NIRF ranking. In case of south india this college ranks 1st. The schedule is somewhat hectic to follow but as we persist here we can manage.

You're provided with extra curricular activities like physical education, yoga, nss etc
good infrastructure, best practical experiences, wide campus, swimming pool, fitness centers. Etc.

I applied CIT,Chennai for computer science course its my 2nd choice I like forest very much and explore the forest. The admission process is through counseling and through entrance exam ICAR and 185 out of 200 cut is best to join the college.

Academic Requirement:

Candidate must have passed 10+2 from the recognized board.

Age Limit:

Candidates should not have completed the age of 21 years on the first day of July of the admission year. However, for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Caste-Arunthathiars (SCA)and Scheduled Tribes (ST) there is no age limit.

The admission to the TNAU B.Tech. course is based on Merit basis (10+2 class level board examination) followed by counselling round. The eligibility is to complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

You need to have passed 12^th with 55% or more to be eligible for admission to TNAU Coimbatore and selection to UG course is done based on merit and based on entrance exam for PG course.

For admissions, candidates can apply to TNAU programs through Online mode. TNAU Admission typically begins in the month of April and continues till August. Admission to UG programs is based on the merit of the qualifying exam followed by a counseling process. Admission to TNAU PG programs is based on scores of the Entrance exam conducted by the University. However, TNAU PhD program admissions are based on the entrance exam and Personal Interview conducted by the University
