Course Curriculum Overview

3

Overall the course was a pack of many different fundamental courses which helped the students to get a general knowledge about how the agricultural sector works in our country. The teaching doesn't need any change it was quite good and also has practical knowledge with theoretical class. The exam were quite tough because the excess subject each semester but it also prepared the students for competitive exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

When I got addmission into the college I didn't pay any extra fess it was normal addmission for my as I got in according to my merit. The college fees were divided into 8 semesters with odd semesters at 20500 and even semesters at 18500. Except that there were also three other quota students called ICAR, industrial, and NRI. The ICAR students used to get a monthly scholarship from Icar, the industrial students had to pay a donation amount around 9-10 lakhs during admission, and NRI students had to pay their semester fees in 2200, according to the current exchange rates. Except for ICAR and some community scholarships, there were no other scholarships available in the college.

Campus Life

5

Campus life was good as it contains library.swimming pool, gym , indoor stadium and also big playground. During our 1st semester sports and yoga was Mandatory for the students which was helpful for maintaining our health. There were many sports tournament held in the campus. There were also various student clubs which used to monitor the events conducted in our college. The three major events were Sanga Mitra, muth tamilvilla and Agronova. Except that new year celebration was also a quite attraction.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostel facilities were not much appreciable as the space for students was not comfortable. Most of the hostel equipment like water filter and coffee machine were not working well. And also the major problem was the hostel meals which were not that much good as most of the times students used order food from outside.

Admission

I have also applied for hotel management as I had good interest in cooking but due to more academic influence I got into this college as Bsc. (Hons) Agriculture was have good opportunities. I got into the college based on my 12th board merit list. Getting into college from my perspective was not much difficult but getting into the new environment for me was quite hard as I don't belong to tamandu.

Faculty

4

To be honest, most of the faculty members were student-friendly as they used to take classes with students regularly without any issues and also clear doubts for each student. As our strength was divided into 4 batches of 40-45 students each, there was always a faculty member for each batch. Entomology faculties were more kind towards the students, and even students also used to like that subject more than others. Each semester contained around 10-12 exams mostly and the exams were at scale From moderate to hard. But last semester was only about experiential learning which was very helpful for the students.

Night Life

5

The night life of our campus was so peaceful but girls didn't get much opportunity to experience that as had a strict hostel closing time at 6.30 pm. But for the boys it was very enthusiastic to roam inside the campus specially during evening and night time. Some of the famous hangout places were college canteen, cafeteria and also the stone bench area behind the main Building of our college.
