Faculty

With regard to the faculty, the ratio is often favorable. They take the time to answer our questions about college-related matters. They are always eager to assist us with our issues. They offer notes, e-books in PDF format, and a library full of useful literature. They provided academic support. They are really motivating and supportive. In order to hear our questions and find answers, we also have an advisory class. Prachi Mam has been a very brilliant teacher at Lady Irwin College; her lectures are fantastic and her teaching approach is excellent. I enjoy every faculty member; nobody was hated. Exams are given according to semesters. For example, three years in six semesters is two semesters. Speaking of the tests, all the subjects is taken from the books, and since the questions weren't outside the curriculum, you passed the test with ease.

The relationship of a student and faculty is very good. We can share our problems with faculty and they have the solutions. Examination held per semester or we can say two times in a year. Marking is on the based of matter what you write in paper....not on the bases of no. of pages you write. Mostly students passes in the exams. Ratio of student to teacher is 10:1. The faculties of my department are excellent..... always supportive and kind to us. The workers of department sometimes being rude or non supportive. We celebrate every happiness in department separately. The course curriculum is relevant and not put burden on the students. Mainly all the classes held through slides or there are smart classes also.

Course Curriculum Overview

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fee I paid here in the university 23 k as a semister fee and 28 k as mess fee. And for the tution and lab fee I paid 2k for the first sem. For the SC and ST students University gives time period to pay fee . For the spot attended students they have to pay fee at the time of spot Admission. My batchmates and me have same fee. There is no any difference in that. They don't have time period to pay fee , they paid fee at the time of joining. Students get NSP and their State scholarships.NSP is for merit students and state scholarship is different for different student according to their State.

Faculty

There is good relationship between faculty and students. They give us good lecture about everything. I like my faculty sangamithra mam , she is good in her work and her dedication towards her work is so inspiring to me . I don't like Sangeetha mam . She is too bad in teaching and also her behaviour toward students is not good. There are 2 semisters in a year and 2 internals for each semister.

University curriculum like organise a national level conference. Teacher and student interaction classes. Doubt clearing sensation. The syllabus curriculum of the university is more relatable with CSIR NET examination. But the whole syllabus are allocated to complete in 6months but exam will be there in 3/4 months most of the syllabus cannot be covered in 3months so bunch of portions are left to learn.

Faculty

The faculty members of the West Bengal State University are so much helpful and efficient the way of their teaching. One can personally visit them and ask for any quarries they can go and meet faculty members ask for help and they do help.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee is 81500. The fee structure is not a burden but if you're looking into the hostel, installments are available at your convenience. The campus is huge and has facilities like an indoor court, swimming pool, and gym. As far as my awareness, few health centers have hired students as nutritionists.

Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus is very basic and there's not much of a difference between ug in pg with respect to the syllabus. Faculties are very supportive, syllabus doesn't focus much on research aspects. Every semester goes hand in hand with 6 months of maximum duration in each semester.

There are fest like Holi, different international conferences, and Pongal are celebrated in every department and most of the time students are allowed to attend. Besides, regional fests such as Durga puja and other cultural fests are widely celebrated on campus. Tech fests are conducted in the month of March-April. Students are required to make library cards for accessing books and there are plenty of spaces with good internet connections that help students to access information from paid journals. The reading room is also there for the students to continue their studies in a peaceful manner Hostel rooms are spacious and have to be shared between 3 students. There are sports events including football and cricket tournaments by the university. Besides, yoga, dance, debate, and performing arts have been regularly practiced by the students Social groups such as confession and LGBTQ support groups are there to help needy individuals alongside, cultural clubs run by students.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course contains significant information on using food science and technologies while primarily focusing on practical knowledge. The faculty: student ratio is approximately 1:30, but in technology, it is 1:20. While the faculties are highly experienced in their respective fields, they all try to provide as much practical knowledge in comparison with theoretical classes. This is considered significant for associating the faculties to bond with their students, which makes it enjoyable for the students to understand the context. The academic calendars are published by the department at the initial stage of the semester which provide information on tentative dates of exam and assignment submission. These are properly followed in the University. However, it is important to follow regular classes, making the exams easier. Following regular classes increases the chance of passing the exam for the students.

● Top Answer By Shreya Hazra on 27 Sept 21

Ans. One of my friends graduated from Pondicherry University and having read a few online reviews regarding this topic, I would suggest some things.  To crack this entrance test you need to plan well to score good marks. Cover the basics from grade 11 and 12 NCERT Biology and Chemistry.  You can refer to the previous years’ question papers. Try to read all the theories behind those questions.  Revising thoroughly will help score good marks. Securing a seat in Central University requires preparation strategically.
