TNAU offers UG, PG and Doctoral level programs in various disciplines of Agriculture. For admissions, candidates can apply to TNAU programs through Online mode. TNAU Admission typically begins in the month of April and continues till August. Admission to UG programs are based on the merit of the qualifying exam followed by a counseling process.
Admission to TNAU PG programs are based on scores of the Entrance exam conducted by the University. However, TNAU PhD program admissions are based on the entrance exam and Personal Interview conducted by the University. TNAU PhD Admission 2024
TNAU offers PhD programs in 28 disciplines. The eligibility and selection criteria for TNAU Admission to PhD programs is tabulated below:

Key Points:
- Entrance examinations for Master’s and doctoral programs will be conducted by ONLINE Mode. It is the responsibility of the candidate to prepare themselves for appearing through online mode. Candidates have to login in on the specified date and time for the entrance exam on their own expenses. Requests for change in the date/time will not be entertained.
- The entrance test will be conducted with remote video proctoring. Any Candidates indulging in any mode of malpractices will be expelled.
- The decision of the University to expel a candidate from the online exam cannot be challenged. If impersonation in the Entrance Test is detected at any point of time, the candidature will be canceled, and appropriate legal action will be taken.
TNAU Application Process
For UG courses:
Registration to any of the courses are done online. Candidates needs to follow these steps to apply for TNAU Admission:
- Visit the official website of the University.
- Click on “Undergraduate” and then “UG Admission”
- Click on “New Registration” and the application form will be opened.
- Fill all the important details correctly.
- It will generate a user ID and password on your registered email and mobile phone.
- Click on the “Proceed to Application” button.
- Pay the Application fee
- You can login again with your user ID and password to download and print Joint Declaration Form and Appendices / Checklist.
For PG and Doctoral courses:
- Click on the official website.
- Click on Postgraduate and then “PG Admission”
- Click on “New Registration and application form will be opened.
- Fill out the Application form carefully.
- Pay the Application fee through online mode.
- Submit the Application.
- Take the printout of Application and keep it for future reference.

Ques. Are candidates who have passed HSC from other states eligible for TNAU Admission?
Ans. No, Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Course (HSC) under Vocational stream from other boards / other states are NOT ELIGIBLE for admission in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University
Ques. What is the age criteria for TNAU UG Admission?
Ans. For TNAU UG Admission, applicants should not have completed the age of 21 years on the first day of July of the admission year. However, for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Caste-Arunthathiyars (SCA) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) there is NO AGE LIMIT. Five years of age relaxation will be given for differently abled candidates.
Ques. What percentage of seats are reserved for differently abled candidates in TNAU Admission?
Ans. In TNAU Admission, Five percent of the seats are reserved for differently abled candidates. The applicant should fulfill all qualifying requirements. However, the maximum age limit is relaxed to 26 years.
Ques. What counseling fee does shortlisted candidates pay for TNAU UG Admission?
Ans. Candidates shortlisted for TNAU UG Admission must pay a non-refundable counseling fee of Rs.3000/- (Rs. 1500/- for SC / SCA / ST categories) through their individual login credentials (www.tnau.ucanapply.com). Those who fail to pay counseling fees will not be considered for online counseling.
Ques. How many subjects can a candidate apply for in the TNAU PG program?
Ans. A candidate shall apply for only three subjects in the TNAU PG program. Separate fee is to be remitted for each subject. Candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. can apply for only one subject.
Ques. Will my TNAU Admission Application be rejected if I don’t upload documents?
Ans. Yes, While submitting the applications online, if required scanned copies of documents are not uploaded, then the application will be summarily rejected without any intimation.

Ans. Applicants will be informed of their selection for admission to TNAU PG. program by email or SMS only. List of selected candidates will be hosted on the University website also. University will not be held for any responsibility for failure in delivery of emails or SMS.

I chose this college for its greenish environment and the faculty It is one of the oldest colleges of TNAU I was astonished to its natural aesthetics Admission is carried out yearly based on the 12th marks and verification done in TNAU

TNAU based on 12th marks the admission is processed. Only only biology students in 12th are eligible for agri . The cutoff for BC is 189 to 192.5 ... Certificate verification and admission is done at TNAU Coimbatore commonly.. More fieldworks are available and this is the biggest campus in TNAU

- Teacher to student ratio is comparatively very good as each year has an average of 40- 55 students. This provides a holistic study environment.
- Availability of Student run Clubs which builds up leadership, teamwork and managerial skills among the students. A lot of college functions are whole heartedly conducted by the students teaching them financial managements and to handle responsibility
Dislikes
- Lengthy college hours from 7.30am till 5pm class hours
- 80% attendance system which was too much.
Admission:
I had applied to other universities too- TNEU, TANUVAS, TAMIL NADU ARTS AND SCIENCE, NEET. Was allocated seats almost in all colleges and I had to choose one. Becoming a doctor was my dream as i could not get into a medical school I opted Bsc hons food, nutrition and dietetics to be my ideal choice as it can help me become a dietetician or allow me to help the public. The admission process was through my 12th grade mark followed by application in the TNAU portal and a counselling session. We have a sliding opportunity, which enables us to choose a better college as per our chosen order of colleges. Looks complicated but is a better and simple system

- Senior junior interaction is very friendly

- This college is far away from city.So that we could travel more to buy anything we want.

The admission for this college is under TNAU Counselling for TN students and under ICAR Examination for All India Students. The eligibility for this course is that the students should get more than 50% in 12th board exam to apply TNAU Counselling. The cutoff of the students should be greater than 190 for general,188 for SC & ST and more than 182 for Sports quota. I prefer this college because of its ranking.

I attempted neet but I got low marks so I didn't get the chance for a medical seat. Then I don't have the opportunity to apply for engineering counselling. So I applied for agriculture and it is my third choice.

The eligibility of this course is 12th standard in any one of the science based group. The application process are conducted by TNAU, Coimbatore in online mode and verification of the documents is offline mode and the fees for the application is Rs.20,000. The minimum cut off for this course is 140 and above.
