Excellent placements: bits pilani has a strong industry network and consistently records high placement percentages, with many students securing job offers before graduation.
The faculty at bits are superb and also pretty chill at the same time.
Merit cum need scholarship is given to the best students who are poor but good in studies.

Dislikes

Grading is difficult , papers are also difficult
It has very bad bathing water, causes skin and hair issues
I hate the fact that there are lot of stray animals even in our hostels

BITS- ITS MAGIC

Likes

The collage life is amazing and there are a lot of events happening all year
The sports facilities are one of the best thing I like
The teachers are very knowledgeable and supportive

Dislikes

The fee is very high but still it is worth.

Placement Experience:

The placements are very great.it is said that on admitting into BITS the placements is almost confirmed. almost 100 percent of students get placed in their dream jobs. The highest package are 80-100 lpa I am planning to get placed in some consulting firm.

The campus is very spacious and pollution free, very neat and clean
The valuation of exams is done very accurately, you will awarded exactly the deserved marks and there is a formal procedure for applying recheck if you are not satisfied
We have zero attendance policy which gives us freedom to explore our interests

Dislikes

The extreme climatic conditions makes us very discomfort both in summer and winter, especially in winter temperatures drop to nearly zero
The food is really bad and its compulsory to enroll for mess if you want to stay in hostel
There are no enough entertainment facilities

You can attend for placements in 4-1 or 4-2 not both. No of offers made: Microsoft-8, google-6, Deshaw-5, Trexquant-4, amazon-15, flipkart-10, IMC-3, uber-8. Almost everyone gets placed, if minimum academics are maintained. I am planning to do job after graduation.

Likes

The faculty is absolutely good. Not only they help in academics but also pay concern to personal issues of students
The college fests are one of a kind with extravagant facilities.
The startup culture and the junior senior interaction.

Dislikes

Academic burden sometimes surpasses the enjoyment.
The fee structure might be an issue for some.
Some infrastructure is yet under development and would take years to build

The college placements are exceptional with the average package being around 25-30 lakhs and the hughest package reachung upto 1 Cr. Apart from placements, college provides a 6-12 month paid internship program called the PS-2 which helps students receive PPOs and gain hands on experience working in the industry

Likes

Campus culture which involves interactions with other batches, concept of seniority and it getting diminished as time passes
Peer group which is excelling in almost every aspect.
Frequency of personal interaction with professors.

Dislikes

0% attendence tends to make people lazy.
weather is so very extreme. Very hot in summers (around 50⁰C) and very cold in winters(sometimes below 0)
remote location- Pilani is a village making it a hassle to order some of the things and waiting 4-5 days for a simple thing.

The course is completely structured in a well manner though sometimes it feels that the evals could be lesser in some of the courses whichshwould not affect the progress. The difficulty level of quizzes is easy to moderate and midsems and comprehensives are moderate to tough

The academic teaching methods, demonstration were up to the mark
College fest are awesome, and are completely student run ( can learn a lot in fests as well)
Good hostel and campus experience , maintained campus in terms of cleanliness and stuff

Dislikes

There is an restriction on in and out time every time you go out of the campus you have to take care of the same(but you can roam around campus anytime)
The grounds and sports facilities get closed after 10pm
The fees is too high when compared to other colleges of same tier

Placement Experience:

The placement here are pretty good , we have two compulsory internship called PS(practice school) we have. Every year leading companies are there for campus interviews some of the companies are BMW Nvidia, Google etc the highest CTC last year was 60LPA And percentage of students placed was almost 80%

0 percent attendance is the best thing for college students
One of best college life in india as tgere are many fests and events happening
Best infrastructure with AC classrooms and a huge library

Dislikes

Quality of hostel rooms are poor but managable
Weather is extreme during winters and summers
No life outside campus as Pilani is a town

Placement Experience:

College Placements are above avg in comparison with other pvt colleges in india From the 6th semester students are eligible for the placements. Many companis like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, ABG, JpMorgan, Goldmann Sachs etc come to give placements Highest package for 23 was 68 LPA and avg was 18 LPA More than 90% students gets placed in the campus If a students doesnt gets placed then they can apply for furthur studies or do off campus placements as there is a huge BUTS Alumni Community in every industry at this moment to grant you a good placement

I like the way professors take care of students regarding academics.
All the students will support each other in any events
There are many events that has been held and cultural programs which include students to participate

Dislikes

There are some senior who try to rag juniors
Maintenance of hostels is little low regarding rooms
There are no more dislikes than these , all good

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester campus selection starts students are eligible for placements. Amazon , google, tcs, wipro, hcl are some of tge companies visited and many offers are made. 1cr is highest packeage and average package is 30LPA. Percentage should is above 85%. Working and living my dream life.

I really liked the world class facilities provided
Admission only based on merit and not reservation
The club culture here is one of the best

Dislikes

As the campus is really old, some of the infrastructure needs some improvement as well
Quality of food provided in mess is sometimes an issue

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is highly relevant. The frequency of tests is branch dependent. For example, phoenix branches might have upto 6-7 tests a week. My branch mechanical has around 3-4 tests a week and all of them are announced

BITS Pilani - Journey into the Magical Place

One of the best Alumni network in India, very helpful and always ready to help
Awesome placements and internship opportunities
zero attendance policy, which gives the student extremely free time

Dislikes

I hated the gender ratio which is around 11 is to 1
The mess food is not that great, lacks flavour
Campus is at a pretty isolated place, which makes it harder to reach

Placement Experience:

Placements are the key highlights of our college, it has an incredible placement record with companies coming from all fields. The best part is anyone can sit for companies other than their discipline which makes switching industries and exploring better careers possible. Almost a 100% placement, however due to bad market some offers might get revoked in rare instances. I plan to become a Product Manager

Campus is beautiful, lush green, it's clean as well
Teachers are great! Helpful too. You don't feel like you're being missed out upon
Practicality is great as well. It's like you're in an IIT.

Dislikes

Fee structure obviously for once because it's very expensive
Placements are limited for NON CSE branches.
Extra curricular infrastructure is a little bad

Placement Experience:

BITS provides internships in Birla, that's really great, a lot of students get placed but only from CSE. Other branches don't have good placements in our college. CSE is preffered, 30 LPA is average and the packages tops 60 LPA every year.

What is your review of BITS Pilani WILP?Does it consider to get lecturer job?

BITS WILP is a two-year postgraduate level course, in which 15 specializations are offered by the university. It is a degree course that is completed mainly on weekends to enable students and professionals to gain a full-time degree course while continuing their professional pursuits.

Pros

You get associated with the BITS tag
You can do your PG alongside working
The course is rather easy and with the right dedication you can complete it in 2 yrs.
The syllabus is the same for both on and off-campus students

Cons

You won’t be able to sit for PG campus recruitment
Not many companies consider this degree valuable and thus makes it is difficult to land a job.
The admission criteria are rather flexible thus the peer pool is not very filtered.
Most of the subjects are from bachelors and lack relevance and rigor
There is no visible difference in the knowledge base of the students.
The classes are not conducted by the original BITS faculty.

In all, I think the cons overshadow the pros and don’t deem this course a very wise decision.

Is BITS Pilani "Pilani campus" better than IIT Roorkee or IIT Guwahati?

In my opinion, both BITS Pilani and IIT Roorkee are in the same league while IIT Guwahati is a bit inferior to them. Let’s discuss further on the basis of some very common aspects

Core subjects: BITS Pilani does not focus on core subjects and the research culture is also very inactive. This is because of the extremely laid-back curriculum and attendance policy. The research opportunities offered are very less in comparison to IITs
Placements: In this aspect, BITS Pilani definitely fairs better with its flagship Practice School program. Students of this program receive many PPOs from top companies during internships arranged by the college itself.
Campus life: IMHO BITS offers the best campus life owing to the student-driven culture and great academic flexibility.
Performance: The institutes can be evaluated on the basis of the performance of their students in various entrance exams. IIT Roorkee students score the best in GATE, UPSC, etc. while BITS Pilani scores well in CAT, GMAT, and GRE.
Peer groups: The average student quality of both the institutes is somewhat similar with IIT Roorkee giving a slight edge to BITS Pilani in this aspect.

Both the colleges have their own strengths and weaknesses and comparing them is illogical. I would say that if you are genuinely interested in CSE, then Pilani will be better for you than Roorkee. But if you aren’t certain of your area of interest then choose IIT Roorkee for its IIT tag.
