I applied through the JEE MAINS counselling process for many NITs. I got a confirmed seat in NIT Meghalaya. I didn't get any rejection from any other college because I did my councelling through JEE MAINS only. The admission process of NIT Meghalaya is going through councelling. Once you get a seat locked in NIT Meghalaya, you have to pay the fee and start the study.

I like the place of my college very much because there is not any presence of summer all 12 months cool weather
The campus I love most because it is green so much and you can chill outside anytime

So as I tell this a government college particularly NIT so admission in this is done by giving a exam called JEE which is conducted by NTA twice in a year most commonly in January and April So after getting a good percentile in this JEE exam you are all ready for conselling done by JOSSA and CSAB Admission are done in these college according to your percentile and All India ranks The eligibility for this exam is you need to be 12 th pass with any recognised Baoard with 75% Cutoff for this exam you can find on inemternet as this a very popular exams given by 15Lac student every year and only 50thouasand student able to get seat So in counselling you have to fill colleges of tour choice and the counselling system allot you a college according to your performance in JEE exam I have fill some other nits like NIT GOA NIT JAIPUR NIT HAMIRPUR NIT NAGPUR but these are the college I didn't get because of my rank in jee exam All went that wrong is my preparation for the exam ???? So I was allotted this college only and I choose this because this college is located in hill area and I just love it hilly areas

A Totally Honest Review for those hoping to get enrolled in NIT Meghalaya

Likes

College Infrastructure, Location, Weather, Low Pollution levels, Large Campus. Highly relevant and focused course curriculum for the personal and professional development and a high placement rate with over 70% on/off campus placement.
Highly experienced and qualified Faculties with regular visits and lectures from international lecturers, Online and offline teachings with advanced technologies and highly fuctional labs. Central library with a wide variety of books and e-books.
Highly functional clubs for the extra curricular abilities and promoting personal interests and hobbies for display at various levels including arts and culture and sports.

Dislikes

Not easily accessible with trains and planes and have to travel with the help of buses and taxis.
Not easy for people to understand local languages as the North Eastern languages are way different than the other central languages. However Hindi and English is widely used among locals.

I didn't apply to any other college as I was solely focused in the present college. The admission process is quite long and rigorous with the main eligibility is passing the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) with required percentile and then enrollment in JOSAA/CSAB for getting enrolled in the college and later doing the needful for the admission in the college. Admission process is quite smooth if you already get enrolled.

In my class girls to boys ratio is 0.2 .there are 10 girls out of total 40 students
my institute is surrounded by green environment and is at very famous place tourism.i.e. Sohra Cherapungi
faculties are very cool and helpful for every type of students.

Dislikes

I am in CSE department but we are provided windows systems and ECE departement is provided MAC systems.
Mess food is not very bad but needs improvement in the vegetable.
sohra is the wettest place of heavy ranfall.

Admission:

I gave preference to brach over college but my institute NIT meghalaya is very good in terms of anything we could expect.It provides us a lot of extra curricular activities which helps us in improving our specific skills.

Shocking college

Likes

Many opportunities are there for students
Campus is very large and social interaction is good
The interaction with faculties is very good

Dislikes

The placement are not upto satisfaction level
Senior are not helping to each other and very rude
Curriculum and course design is not much efficient

Admission:

I did josaa counseling and I got many college like nit bhopal ,nit Patna and many other and I rejected the other college because I want to explore Meghalaya Through josaa and csab counseling and jee mains exam is accepted

Likes

Senior are helping and friendly and guide in academics
Girls ratio is very good and is about 1:5
There nirf ranking is good and some faculty are top faculty of india

Dislikes

The campus is temporary and we have to travel by transport to reach hostel
Boys not allowed out of hostel after 7 pm
They are providing branch change option which I don't like

Admission:

I got admission in NIT Meghalaya and admission got confirmation in RTU kota but me self ejected the admission because want to get admission in NIT Meghalaya Admission in this college through josaa counselling and through jee mains exam cutoff for home state is very low but for other state it is very high

National Institute of Technology Meghalaya

Likes

The campus is spread with lots of trees. It is a lush green campus and the weather is good throughout the year.
The professors are very friendly and helpful. They help a lot with projects and internships
Lots of cultural activities in which we can participate

Dislikes

The campus is a bit small. We can cover the whole campus within 15 mins
It's always raining in shillong so yeah it becomes uneasy to travel here and there
The class rooms are a bit small and needs to be improved

Admission:

The admission process was very easy. The admission was done through JoSAA and CSAB portals of the government. The sear was given onthe basis of JEE Mains and Advanced ranks. Overall the admission process was a little bit time consuming.

NIT Meghalaya's Things

Likes

There faculty how they teach student with providing proper practical and real life knowledge
Each course which teachers teaches also have lab of that course which help in getting the topics more widely and keenly
The interaction of senior with junior are very nice and helpful they always ready to help student in every situationships

Dislikes

Shillong climate changes very drastically, most of the time we faced raining and too much cold at the time of winter
Shillong traffic is also another reason for disliking that place
In NIT, Meghalaya still we don't shifted in our permanent campus

Admission:

Generally for getting in NIT, Meghalaya you have to clear JeeMains with good percentile, cutt Off list are according to Josa selection boards or through Csab round. If your percentile is above 94 then you easily get in it

Nit Meghalaya review

Likes

Less strength such that there will be no much disturbance
Weather around here sometimes it's extreme awesome
Coming to studies thats our own interest and determination

Dislikes

No sports facilities , here there is no availability of ground resources
No permanent campus and campus is little conjusted
This year placements were not good and has been affecting many students

Admission:

All these applications and forms regulations can be found from nit Meghalaya student e notice where u can get the document and guidelines from it . Go throught it to get those details and fee structures eligible criterias etc

Professor was very good, kind and always help students if they facing some problems in their academic or if they feel stress they motivates us with there kind words. They suggest many books for reading that help us in our studies & getting Good mark.

Sometimes regular class was held then lab so sometimes we get a very busy schedule

Admission:

For taking admission in MSc program in IIT's or NIT's you have to qualify IIT JAM Exam . IIT JAM Exam was not so touch like JEE Advance but you have to knowledge in your own subject. If you dream to go to IIT or NIT but you didn't qualify the JEE MAIN or ADVANCE, IIT JAM Exam give you change to go IIT or NIT. Minimum creation is you have to qualify your Bsc with minimum 6.5 cgpa .

If you are asking about NIT Meghalaya B.Tech. courses, then you can easily get admission with 5000 rank. The minimum required rank for B.Tech. is 138087. But for admission to M.Tech. and M.Sc. 5000^th rank is not acceptable. The minimum required rank for these courses is 1746.

What is the last round cutoff for NIT Meghalaya MTech program?

NIT Meghalaya MTech cutoff is decided based on GATE scores. Last year, the last round cut off for MTech program for candidates from the general category ranged from 356 to 424. For M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering program, the last round cut off was 356 whereas 357 was for M.Tech. in Fluids and Thermal Engineering program. The closing rank for M.Tech. in Power and Energy Systems, Structural Engineering and VLSI and Embedded Systems was 424, 359 and 380 respectively.
