IIT Bombay: A Dream Come True

Likes

Faculty and student environment is very skilled and competitive
Classrooms and labs are well equipped with latest technology
Sports facilities are good and every sports is available

Dislikes

Hostel mess food is of poor quality and tasteless
Academics can be stressful due to high competition
Hostels are old and lacks management and facilities

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of computer science and engineering is very well defined with respect to future perspective. One can pursue higher studies with ease or can move to industrial level. There are both theory and lab courses which prepares us for real world. There is also freedom to study courses from other departments and include them in degree credits. Exams are held mostly 4 per course per semester i.e. 2 quizzes, 1 mid semester and 1 end semester.

Likes

IITB is the no 1 institute in India for engineering. It has the best research facilities available. The professors and peers are really talented and helpfull.

Dislikes

Nowadays, a lot of construction work is happening in campus.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement happens in 7th semester. All the students can sit in campus placement who haven't accepted PPOs. During phase 1 of placement nearly 200 companies visited and 800 around students were placed in the first phase. Nearly 60 to 70% students get placed via placement and some via PPOs.

All about the life at and after IIT Bombay

Likes

The campus life is what I loved the most. You get every thing from sports to different types fields to work on.
First thing that comes to our mind after hearing IITB is the academic, which is undoubtedly excellent.
The extend the freedom which the college provides. It treats you like an adult, instead of a child.

Dislikes

The academics of Electrical Engineering is somewhat hectic.
The socialization between the students is very good, but lower in comparison to other IITs

Placement Experience:

After 7th Semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Around 90% of the students sitting for the placement are placed in good companies with appreciable package. The placement are provided in all the engineering profiles, along with Quant and Consulting fields. The highest package had been 3CPA, and average being 12LPA. My plan after getting degree is to work in Semiconductor industry

India's best college. I can be with India's biggest and smartest brains. an have fun
Competitive environment which helps in growing ourselves.
Many clubs to explore your interest and can do anything

Dislikes

Competitive environment doesn't let others to help among themselves
Soo many talented students that one get demotivated easily
It's class timings. They are not one after another. One is in day other after 5 hours

Placement Experience:

After 7 semester students are eligible for campus placement. So many big companies visit IIT Bombay like Google, Facebook, Ola uber etc. the minimum package offered is 10LPA. This year around 6% students remained unplaced.

Likes

Excellent extracurricular opportunities (clubs, tech teams, PORs)
Very interactive and friendly seniors who give valuable advice and treats
Amazing campus. Also no restrictions when it comes to exploring Mumbai.

Dislikes

Hostel rooms are pretty small and outdated. They're made for single occupancy but made double sharing.
Mess food is pretty mediocre. Some days they're good, but mostly boring.
Most faculty members are pretty boring during their lectures.

Placement season begins after the students' 4th year, and companies like Apple, Uber, Google, Jaguar, Airbus, Amazon, Infosys, and many more come to recruit the fresh graduates. The average package is 21.82 LPA, and the highest is 3.67 Cr. Out of 2207 students, 1845 students were placed.

To the point

Likes

Good environment to learn technical thing practically, good location everything nearby college
Lots of club for every type of person also tech teams if you are interested more in tech
Good sports and gym facilities with proper coaches present at particular timing

Dislikes

Some of the Proffs are weird , they always expect extreme discipline towards their course aur creativity out of the world
Food quality for freshers need to be improved
Too much construction in college, also there is no other college in the area to increase our network

Placement Experience:

Placements are extremely good , if no placement is offered to someone,it may be due to his / her interview performance, health , cgpa , disciplinary action , About 97 % student gets easily placed Some students prefer to go abroad for m.tech Almost all MNC and huge companies come to campus to offer placement

One major thing I have not talked about is the availablity of food .
Night canteen is opened till 4am . Night canteen help students to study all night

Course Curriculum Overview:

Courses here are very interesting. New concepts, views of engineering and different types of tools used in daily life and other many things have been taught to us. Faculty is also very supportive and helpful at various difficult times

Placement Experience:

In the 7th semester, companies start coming for placements and by the end of 7th semester most students are placed. The average package is around 22LPA and the highest package is around 4 CPA(international offer). More than 350 companies visited and more than 1500 offers were made. The percentage of students getting placed is around 80%. My plan is also to get a decent placement in the field of Quant.

The campus-Probably the greenest place I have ever seen.
The culture-From acads to extra currics,everything is unmatchable.
Opportunities that our college offers in order to develop your personality.

Dislikes

Competitive environment is the biggest issue .
Hostel rooms are small and clumsy and maybe some hostels are below average.
You need to always be on your toes to compete with everyone

Placement Experience:

Placements are one of the best in our country with my branch's average package going to 20 lakh per annum.Our college has NIRF ranking 1 and hence serves as the hub to nationwide placements.If no Campus Placements are offered we'll go with Apping process where I'll try to approach alumni through LinkedIn or maybe start up owners also.
