Placement Experience:

They provide with a good placements. Many companies visit campus every year. They provide placements to many students. Many big companies visit like goldman Sachs, oracle etc. Approximately 90% of EEE students get placed

Placement Experience:

yeah the placement procedure is quite okay.many big companies like goldamn,linkedin have visited.as far as i know the highest package is around 45lakh per annum.in cse as per now placement percentage is above 80.

Placement Experience:

Placements are terrible as it is recession period. Last year it was good. Average package was 10-12. But this year it is 7 and company visits are less this year and hiring is decreased by almost 70%.

What is your review of the National Institute of Technology Calicut?

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

  1. The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required. 
  2. There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
  3. The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
  4.  There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
  5. During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
