Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

My Journey at NITC

You get to meet a lot of interesting new people. The experiences I shared with them will always be special.
Materials Science and Engineering department has some great faculties. You get to build a relationship with them outside the classroom.
The research facilities, the first class instruments available, the project works happening are all great innovative works which help the students build their aptitude towards research.

Dislikes

Few lectures can be boring and the faculties can seem strict.
Strict attendance maintenance. A minimum of 80% attendance needed to maintained.

Placement Experience:

Students can sit for placements in the final year. The placement drive will begin at the start of the final year and is carried throughout the year. Google, Microsofot, Gameloft, Accenture, Micron are just some of the companies that have come to NITC. The average package at NITC is 10-12 lakh . However students have been offered packages as high as 75 lakhs in my year. NITC had a very high placement percetage of around 90 percentage in my final year. Most of the companies coming will be IT companies. Many core companies do come. For materials science, MRF, Micron, L&T were some of the core companies that had come. I have been in placed in Brillio.

a first year student at nitc

Likes

campus - we have a large campus where we are free to roam around and relax after classes or even at night
campus life and freedom- coming from a strict cbse school i feel very free in this canpus
exposure- many students from various backgrounds come here. i like the diversity here

Dislikes

the recent changes made by the administration which is affecting the harmony of the campus
old infrastructure which is not managed properly
80% mandatory attendance can be very tiring sometimes

Course Curriculum Overview:

nitc is highly regarded for it academic accolades amd its curriculum. my course is considered to have a hectic curriculum. the teachers are all highly qualified. we have exams twice per semester- midsems and endsems. the level of difficulty of certain subjects is high, and it requires us to study hard even to pass the subject.

What is your review of the National Institute of Technology Calicut?

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
