Placements are terrible this year due to recession.
Mess food is kerela style which other state people dislike mostly.

Course Curriculum Overview

My first preference was CSE but I got ECE in NITC. Class strength is 200 members divided into 4 sections. Every 50 students are alloted a faculty advise whom they can reach out for any academic reason.

Internships Opportunities

Good internship opportunities are provided on-campus in 3rd year itself. It was very good . Many students got pre placement offer through internships which is good thing in this recession time.High packages were offered in internships.

Placement Experience

Placements are terrible as it is recession period. Last year it was good. Average package was 10-12. But this year it is 7 and company visits are less this year and hiring is decreased by almost 70%.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is less and there is fee waiver for each category accordingly and there are many scholarships provided by college. Many scholarship opportunities are available. College provides financial assistance and education loans too.

Campus Life

College infrastructure is not so appreciable. But they renovating nowadays. Campus life is so nice and rajpath too. Many clubs and events will be organized every week. Cultural and technical fests like ragam and thathva

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are good but too hot and humid . Mess food is terrible because everything is done in kerela style. Hostel and mess maintenance is good and clean. There is hostel app so every student can choose any mess they want and pay hostel and mess fee through online in app.

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

I took Jee mains entrance exam and got admission through jossa to National Institute of Technology Calicut in B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering. Category rank is 384.U can find detailed application process and dates everything in official website of jossa. I got Electrical and Electronics Engineering in National Institute of Technology Stratham in first round. Then I got ECE in NITC in second round and it was same till the last round that is 6th round.

from semister 6 students become eligible for campus placements and companies loke bank of america , google microsoft etc visited for campus placements and the highest package is about 54 lakhs where as average is 11 lakhs and about 98% of the students are placed

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college. Accordind to NIRF rankings this is the top 27 Engineering college in India and top 3rd NIT. Admission process is only through JEE Mains Exam. You need very good percentile to join this college. Nit Calicut very good placements too....Read More
