Admission to the M.Sc. Biostatistics program is based on academic performance and an interview. Applications open in early April, with interviews by late May, and results announced within a month. Applicants can apply before receiving final graduation results but must bring their mark list to the interview. The department has 7 faculty members, including 5 lecturers and a secretary, led by a distinguished department head with 50 years of expertise.
The faculty teaches postgraduate students and staff in research, epidemiological, and biostatistical methods, and supports the creation of research projects, data analysis, and scientific publications. The two-year program costs around 1.5 lakh rupees, with an additional annual hostel fee of 60,000 rupees. Payments are made via demand draft. Graduates can work as Faculty, Statisticians, Research Assistants, and Officers in medical colleges, research institutions, health departments, pharmaceutical companies, and universities. Although there are no scholarships, the college assists with education loans, such as from Gramin Bank.
