Admission to the university is based on an entrance exam, followed by a rank list. Prospective students must attend a counseling session, where admission is determined by seat availability in the desired course. The university boasts a diverse faculty from various regions of India, many of whom are employed on a contractual basis.
As a central government institution, the university offers fee concessions for female students, although hostel fees remain high for both male and female residents. Currently, the university does not offer campus interviews or internships, leaving students to find job opportunities on their own, an area that requires enhancement to raise the institution’s standards.
Financial aid is available through a freeship scholarship for top-performing students and additional scholarships for those from Karnataka state.
