SMVDU B.Sc + M.Sc: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

The Master of Science (M.Sc) in Physics at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) involves an entirely online admission process through their portal, smvdu.samarth.edu.in. Admission is based on merit lists from entrance exams like CUET-PG or GAT-B, and there is no university-specific entrance exam. The application fee is usually around Rs. 1000, but it’s waived for those who clear the mentioned government exams. The course accommodates up to 40 students per class and includes three to four labs for experimental work.

However, the course does not offer specific placement opportunities, unlike other courses at the university. Exams occur thrice per semester, including two minor exams, one major exam, assignments, and quizzes. The tuition fees for some courses at SMVDU can reach up to Rs. 96,000 per year, making the total cost for a two-year program approximately Rs. 3 lakhs, including hostel and mess fees. The academic fee for an M.Sc in Biotechnology is about Rs. 75,000 per year, totaling Rs. 1,70,000 for two years. Scholarships are available for SC, ST, EWS categories, single girl children, and students with a 90% or above average each semester can receive Rs. 20,000 per semester.
