Scholarship: this college have really great facility of scholarships for needy people.
Faculty to student ratio is great and small strength class provide a great personalized experience and teaching to students .
The college fest is a perfect great opportunity to learn and grow.

Dislikes

I think that they lag in their way of teaching.
Hostel condition especially for the first year hostel which is provided that is shivalik hostel is worst
Staff is not so good. they take extra classes and non of the things they explain are clear

Natural beauty of chandigarh and market facilities
Sports activities and active clubs and societies
Internship and job opportunities in reputed companies

Dislikes

Less number of girls and reservation for lower caste
Shiwalik hostel (1st year hostel)food is very poor
Drinking water has not a good smell and not fresh

Reputation & Legacy: PEC is one of the most prestigious engineering colleges in India with a rich history and strong alumni network

Placements in our college is a decent one but it has also degraded over the time and also the good companies like Google , microsoft , many companies come to the college and this is what makes the average high for this college

Reality of PEC Chandigarh

I liked the greenery in the campus. Everywhere you can see the plants and trees. You can feel the fresh air in the campus.
PEC Market is a market in our campus, where you can find shops related to everything you needs in college life. There are some stationary shops, eating shops ( fast food and all ), barber, bank and ATM too. A dispensary is also there in the market.
PEC has very good and experienced staff. Even some has written books on their subject. Each classroom has 3 projectors and professors uses it in a beneficial way.

Dislikes

I am disappointed with the hostel, I'm in first year and my hostel is old. Rooms are not in good condition and mess food is not very well. Washrooms are not well maintained.
College infrastructure is not very good. As PEC is more then 100 years old so infrastructure looks very old. During labs many experiment kits doesn't work. But renovation has started and I think it would be much more better in upcoming years.
I'm a first year student and I can say that classes schedule is very hectic. Some days you have classes at 8 AM to 5 PM with 1 hour break. It is very hectic for a student to attend and stay active in all the classes.

Placement Experience:

Placements of PEC are very good. It beats many top tiers engineering colleges of India in terms of placement. From 7th semester you can sit for placement. Companies starts visiting your college in 7th semester. You can also get a internship offer in 5th semester as many companies visits the college for interens. Many companies visited PEC in 2023 and made nearly 518 offers which was the highest no of offers made in the last 5 years. Highest package of 2023 was 83 lacks and average package was 16.71 lacks. Different companies gives different salary and package. Around 70-75% of students get placed every year, this data could vary year to year. My plans after getting the degree is to get a good job.

Life at pec chandigarh

Likes

Good experience at college, campus life is great
Nice food at mess , and free to move every where
Good for girls also , security at girls hostel

Dislikes

We study. Old subjects in our first year
Some subject we not need like engineering drawing for our course
Structure of campus, means is old time construction

When I see that the Data science course is. Good and have good placement offers in this college I like to take it. Placement is good Schedule of classes is regular. , Follow the academic calendar , overall it is good

I liked the college campus a lot ,greeny is so much
The air is clean and weather is cool because of tress
Some of the The classes are air conditioned

Dislikes

The hostels are a mess ,the almiras are broken
The mess food us tooo oily,and taste is ok
The boy girl ratio tooo low, although boys are best

The placement are decreasing yearly maybe dur to recession but average and median packages are ok ,internships are not soo well although the good studnets get them easily maintain a good CG then you should have no problem

Sports played in colleges, There are number of sports that are played.
I like campus life in college regardless of all the small issues occuring in college.
I like course outcomes as it offers various opportunities and is the main reason I joined this college.

Dislikes

Boys to girls ratio in college. There is no girls reservation quota in college.
Quality of food provided in hostel's mess.
Most of the area is filled with residential area.

Placement Experience:

From fifth semester students in this college become eligible for internships and this period lasts for two semesters. From seventh semesters students start to get placed in various companies like wipro, PhonePe, Apple, Microsoft, etc

My experience at punjab engineering college as a first year

Likes

Clean and green campus with studious environment
good and helpful teachers that teach well
good placement statistics as per my knowledge

Dislikes

sub- optimal wifi coverage in the campus
unclean washrooms and mess area in the hostel
bad timings for students during winters

Placement Experience:

students are interviewed for internships by companies in the fifith semester, and the eligible students have the 6th semester as an internship, and the credits are earned for internship , companies like goldman sachs and jp morgan visit the college for internships and placements , the highest package for cse branch last year was around 83 lakhs per annum and average was around 16-17 lakhs, around 80 percent students were placed in CSE branch last year I am thinking about getting a job after my degree

PEC is one of the brilliant college you must be a part of it

Likes

The college leads up to social interaction with defferent peoples.
The alumni strength of college is very vast as the college is existing about 100 year back,so it helps the students of this college
Different groups for other curriculum activities, cultural activities helps the students to engage with each other.

Dislikes

Infrastructure of college is a point it can be far more better.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum focus in allround development of a student.the first year is dedicated towards the introduction towards engineering in which the students have to visit all the all difference subjects. In second year students have to focus on their specific course. In third year the student have to devote themselves towards internship. And in 4th year the placements are done by the college. This all prospective help us to prepare for real world applications of our academic knowledge.

I like the placements provided by the college.
Campus area is neat and clean and surroundings are well maintained.
Labs are well maintained and being renovated.

Dislikes

Some of the cources in first year are extra added as they are very old and are not needed in our discipline.
Unavailability of proper technical facilities for visualization.
Some of the professors don't teach properly and just read out the ppt.

Placement Experience:

Students in Punjab Engineering College become eligible for internships in their fifth semester and internships offers goes on until sixth semester. Our seniors here are placed in good companies like Wipro, Apple, Microsoft, Infosys, PhonePe, etc.
