Course Curriculum Overview

5

Most of the curriculam is upto date. The teaching methods seem to be good and each class is equiped with smart screens and projectors which most of the teachers use effectively while teaching. In the course of 5 months there are two majour exams that are the mid sems ( after 2.5 months of the semester begining) and end semseters. Small quizzes are held 3 times through out the semster for each subject.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college give internship opportunity for 6 months in the third year and teachers often help the students to grab the internships. Almost 90% of the 3rd year studnets get their internships. The stipend usually varies between 25k to 75k per month

Placement Experience

3

The placements are okay okay. Not very bad but not that great too. This year 40% are students of the 25 batch are placed with highest package of 52LPA. The average sallary is about 16LPA and the placements of lower branchers like Metta and production are also good with highest packagae of 20LPA each

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid 112,000 rupees to the college during the admission including all the refundable and admission fees. With this the hostel fees was 84,000 without including the mess fees. Additional refundable fees of 6000 was taken which will be refunded after 4th year. The average mess fees is about 3,200/month. For SC and ST students they only have to pay fees of 94,000 on every odd semester and 6,000 for even semester.

Campus Life

4

The college life at PEC is above average as it is located in the main chandigarh city and there is easy access to all the malls , markets and parks nearby. We can also go for trips to nearby hill stations like shimla and kasauli that are in 100km radius.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel rooms are below average for atleast the first year. The rooms are very old and small which is only suitable for one student but they are being used as double sharing rooms. The hostel for first year has 3 block A,B and C in which C block has the best rooms comparitvely. The mess food is okay okay

Admission

For me pec was the only option i had. I could not afford the fees of private colleges. This was the only college i was getting at my rank of 289,000. Also pec has a good reputation and good placement opportunites. The college is also located in a great location

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio is pretty bad about 50:1 but all the faculty are easy to reach out. Teachers and professors try their best to ggive the best output in the class. Regular quiz and internals are condoucted. The labs and equipments are in proper condition

Night Life

5

For boys, there are near to no restrictions in the hostel. no one asks or say anything when we enter the hostel so night life at the clg for the boys is good. But for the girls the suffer a great strictness in the hostel closing time of 10pm. Exceptions are made when there is any event. There are gym and badminton and squash courts accessible for everyone. We usually hangout in the pec market and the food is also good. very large verity of food ranging from veg to non veg

Placements of this college is better than many tier 2 NITs . Students are eligible for placement in 8th semester. If we talk about the top companies visiting PEC, these are Apple, Google, Microsoft, American Express, McKinsey, JP Morgan etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The whole curriculum focuses on the cramming power, not on the practical knowledge. Students have to do the tech stack on their own for the placements. Students must do the internship so that he/she will gain some practical knowledge and a chance to gain hands-on experience.
