Course Curriculum Overview
Being a first student I can't comment much about the course curriculum as I have not explored the real VLSI curriculum, as in first year we all have same subjects. But the curriculum seems decent and compared to iits and nits it is similar.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure of PEC Chandigarh is kind of affordable, it offers b.tech in 12 lakhs for 4 years including hostel. You can also get various scholarships based on caste, and other reservations. You can also get incomplete scholarships here which is dependent on alumini donations. Fees remains the same for all the four years as it is mentioned during the admission process. Mess fees is around 3500 per month while the hostel fees is 82000 per year. Other fees includes tuition fees. All this combined is around 12 lakhs for complete course.
Campus Life
There are many clubs and societies in PEC Chandigarh which help in overall development of students. PEC also organizes PEC fest every year which is one of the biggest fest in North India. There are also many other fests organized including startup fair, esummit, trivium, etc
Admission
I also applied for IIIT Nagpur but due to my JEE rank I was not getting that much good branch in that college so I decided to join PEC Chandigarh as it was more value for money and my time. Admission process is simple and is available on both Jossa and PEC website after Jossa counselling.
Faculty
The faculty here is kinda great. A lot of them have decent knowledge about their subjects. And most importantly the faculty don't bother you, even if you have short attendance they don't harass you for attendance and all.
Interview Experience
No ,there was no group discussion for admission . The admission was done through the jee mains by the portal of jossa and csab.one has to enroll to jossa after jee mains and wait for the joosa seat allocation
Night Life
The dark side of PEC lies in its night life. There are no night canteens and the official timing for boys hostel is 10 p.m.. For girls it's even worse and it's 9:00 p.m.. In boys hostel you can go out even after 10:00 p.m. as the official timing is not very strict and a lot of students also jump outside the wall and roam in Chandigarh city but for girls it's very strict and after 9:00 p.m. they are not even allowed to step outside there in hostels.
