Panjab University Chandigarh Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

This department is one of the first departments established in the university so the alumni base of UICET is very strong. Many companies visit to department some of them are ExxonMobil, Infosys, Honeywell, cairn, Bechtel. Companies like reliance and L'oreal have also recruited students from uicet.

Before Covid, the placement rate was 100% and sometimes the batch got double placed also. But after this, the placement rate has fallen to 75%, with ExxonMobil, Honeywell UOP, Cairn, and Reliance being the top recruiters.

I am interested in defense exams like CPO, afcat, CDS. So, I will prepare for it after completing my degree. Placement due to corona is less as compared to previous years. But you can get exposure in this college.

Around 70% of students got placed last year. The highest package was 11 lpa and the lowest was around 4 lpa. The average package of our college is around 6 lpa. Companies like Exxon Mobil, L'Oreal, cairn, reliance, etc come for recruiting students.

After 3rd year company starts coming. The placements have been pretty good over the years. 80-90% students get placed in chemical engineering branch every year. The data might be different for past year due to covid less companies visited the department but this year the companies have started to come again. Major companies visiting in the department are ExxonMobil, Honeywell, RIL, Cairn, Jubilant, Technip. Highest package of 10-11 lakh p.a. is offered to 5-6 students every year by ExxonMobil and lowest of 3 lakhs by Infosys. Average package being 6 lakhs. Top roles offered are design engineer, process engineer, well engineer, CET, etc

Almost 80-90% of eligible students got campus placement with an average package of 5-6 LPA. Our highest paying company is Exxon Mobil which provides you with a package of 11.5 LPA and the lowest package is paid by Infosys around 3-4 LPA.

The placement is excellent for TECH companies but not good for core branches. the highest package in 2020 was 45 lakhs per annum and the average package was about 7 lakh per annum 95 percent of students of CS/IT got placement.

The college's placement was barely average, companies don't usually come this far out on top of that was lockdown which caused the number of companies to limit. There were around 20 companies for all 4 streams of engineering. Most of them came for Computer Science and Information Technology stream. Major Recruiters were Infosys, Hashdin, Apptunix , Cognizant, Gemini and average package would be around 3lpa and the highest package offered was 8lpa.

So the placement percentage lies between 30 to 40 % and the average package lies between 6 LPA to 7 LPA and most of the students prepare for different kinds of exams after completing their degree. My plan after doing my degree was to work for a corporate so I was also placed and started working in a reputed organization.

From 7th Sem Student is eligible for campus placements. There are no Internship opportunities provided by the Unversity. From CS/IT perspective: Various Service based and some product based companies visit every year (like Infosys, Wipro, Hashdin, Josh Technology, Amazon etc]. In Cs/It about 90%placements but for others branches like Mechanical, civil, etc. it comes down to 40-50% My plan is after completing a degree studies abroad.
