Panjab Unversity BE courses

I applied for many NIT's but didn't get any seat in preferable branch (CS, IT, ECE]. I had OBC quota but they didn't accept it . According to them , they give quota to BC candidate . So, if you have OBC certificate , don't get your hopes high because you will be converted into General during admission process. Admission criteria: 1. 12 Marksheet, 2. 10 Marksheet, 3. Jee main score, 4. Quota certificate if any.

The course curriculum is good but the delivery of the content by faculty members is not good at all. Faculty : Student ratio:20 : 1. Some of the teachers are good having good qualifications( including PhD, Mtech) who teaches really well but you will find these teachers only in 1st or 2nd year. Exams were held on time with equal intervals/gaps including MST1(mid-Sem-1) , MST2(mid-sem-2) , final Exams. Exams were not as difficult to pass as it seems but you know just like time is "relative" , exams are also "relative" .

From 7th Sem Student is eligible for campus placements. There are no Internship opportunities provided by the Unversity. From CS/IT perspective: Various Service based and some product based companies visit every year (like Infosys, Wipro, Hashdin, Josh Technology, Amazon etc]. In Cs/It about 90%placements but for others branches like Mechanical, civil, etc. it comes down to 40-50% My plan is after completing a degree studies abroad.

Fees structure: On an average of 40k - 50k per Sem. Just like other govt universities, no faculty discusses scholarship opportunities, you have to keep in touch with the student section to get to know about scholarship opportunities and sometimes they didn't know either. Very few opportunities for Jobs as compared to other colleges like NIT and IIT's.

Annual fest and tech fest is average here(forgot the names). Libraries are good here. Sports activities and extracurricular activities are there but not that much. Again below average. Student communities are very strong here.

Facilities in rooms are good enough [just like another hostel] The meal is Poor here The registration process is simple. You just need to visit the warden. PG is far better than govt hostel here ( including food and facilities ] but some people do not prefer it because of security issues.
