The admission process is through Jossa counseling based on jee mains result. The application form is easily available on the Jac Chandigarh website and the counselling generally starts after the JEE Advanced result.
Course Curriculum Overview
The exams are conducted on a semester basis which lasts for 6 months. In between, there are 2 midterms where the best out of 2 are selected and weigh for 25%. Externals are of 50% and the remaining 25% accounts for attendance and assignments.
Internships Opportunities
The college has a good placement cell where the companies come for internship opportunities during the 3rd year of the degree. The internship period is of 6 weeks and is generally paid. The companies include Honeywell, Reliance, and Bechtel.
Placement Experience
Before Covid, the placement rate was 100% and sometimes the batch got double placed also. But after this, the placement rate has fallen to 75%, with ExxonMobil, Honeywell UOP, Cairn, and Reliance being the top recruiters.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is very nominal and perhaps the cheapest one can get being in a government college of high value. It is 20,000 per year, which means the total engineering degree is finished under 80000 rs.
Campus Life
The life at campus is great. The university provides a 24/7 open library, 24/7 mobility in and out of hostels and campus which helps the students avail the benefit of library. Also there are cultural fests taking place.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is very good. It is only for Rs. 6000 per semester excluding the mess charges. The rooms are available on sharing basis. However, it is difficult to get a hostel if your merit rank is not good. Nevertheless, wifi facilities are top-notch
