Faculty in my department are very good .i like the way of their teaching they are ready to entertain your doubts ready to take extra classes
The placements opportunities here are very good, as the college has some of the very best company connections thus helping us to have a bright placement opportunity.
Many scholarships are available you can avail anything one of my friends hot 50000 scholarship from ngo and it is perfect year .so that he can study well .

Dislikes

The internet was a big big disappointed, no wifi in cvr hostes );
I don't like the washing machines provided. they don't work most of the times and not good care is taken for them.
Food i was bit dissatisfied with mess food and bored of it

IIT Patna Through An Honest Insider's Perspective

Good peer group, good and supportive professors, good infrastructure, super good coding culture, good senior-junior interaction.
fests are really good here. We had Laqshay Kapoor, Armaan Malik, Vickey Kaushal in Anwesha 2025. We also had Madhur Virli, Mohammad Irfan (singer) Dr. Ashish Arora, Gajendra Purohit Sir in various other fests during the academic year 2024-25.
IITP is the only second generation IIT to conduct inter IIT Cult Meet 7.0

Dislikes

Swimming pool is not there, thats a a big problem though because we still got medals in inter iit aquatics.

Here at IITP, students in their summer break of the pre-final year do their internship, its like mandatory for everyone to do their branch related internship. Many companies like amazon, flipkart, uber, google, atlassian, microsoft etc visit campus for both internship and placement. Indian Institute of Technology-Patna has a very beautiful campus.
For first years the hostel is too spacious.
The relation between juniors and seniors is too good.

Dislikes

The grading system. This college has absolute grading system.
The rooms in hostels for 2nd,3rd years are too small.
The classes starts early nearly at 8 am .

In phase 1 alone 207 students were placed,including 58 pre placement offers. Impressively, 12 international offers were made. The average package of Indian Institute of Technology stood at ?25.5LPA,where the highest domestic package reached 60LPA.Top recruiters this year are GOOGLE 15 offers ,FLIPKART, ZS ASSOCIATES,MICROSOFT ,AMAZON, ADOBE, INTEL , NVIDIA ,and ACCENTURE JAPAN. Departmentwise, M.Sc Mathematics program achieved 100%placement, artificial intelligence and data science 80% and computer science and engineering 75%. Aproximately 700 students participated for placements this year and participation of over 220 companies.

Likes

Campus size was nice and the admin area is big
The hostel is a big small but maintained
There are four badminton courts and two basketball courts

Dislikes

Maintainance of the hostel is not good .
The washing machines are not always in the working conditions
The academic stress is high and the boys to girls ratio is 1:4

The exams are pretty much difficult and all The professors set the exam papers difficult. Grading is not relative but absolute here so ots ki fa difficult to score a good cgpa and all . The courses are ig up to date only , atleast for mnc branch

My Experience at IIT PATNA

Likes

I like the Transportation system there are 4 buses that run inside the campus time to time.
Curriculum is well designed all the lectures run freely no hectic schedules.
Professors are strict but they to listen to our problems regarding the way of teaching they do adopt to our pace, that really helps us to stay focused in class.

Dislikes

Colors of Infrastructures all of them are painted same color that's pretty annoying.
Labs are outdated I think we are wasting time for simple and basic applications, we do want to learn complex things taught in the lectures.
Library is small it is always packed and our department library is being used as a storage room for new equipment.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester students are eligible for placements, around 50 companies came to IIT Patna for placement drive and 60+ companies visited for hiring interns. As of I know by January 2025 nearly 80% of 4th years were placed and still it is going on these numbers might change there are aroung 500 plus fourth year students and 600 plus 3rd year students. Highest package was over 60LPA and average is 25LPA for over all placement drive till January(per company is not disclosed to 3rd years yet so I am not sure for individual companies) I am things about higher studies may be I might pursue M.Tech in Electrical Engineering

IIT PATNA from the INSIDE

Likes

The Coding culture of IIT PATNA is insane. Seniors are very helpful to you if you ask for help.
Extracurricular activities are also good. You can easily develop one of your talents here in IIT PATNA
Placement scenario is also goated. The average placement of last year of my branch which is computer science was 17LPA.

Dislikes

The boy to girl ratio of IIT PATNA is bad. there is approx 80:20 ratio of boys vs girls.
The main campus of IIT PATNA is a little away from main town which can be a problem sometimes.
Weather can be extreme a lots of time if you don't have a habit of it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The exams are conducted once in midsem and then endsem. With quiz conducting avg. per fifteen days. Being an IIT, IIT PATNA has a rigorous curriculum but it's manageable because students are also pretty good academically. More coding related subjects can be added and non-coding related subjects can be removed.

IIT Patna

Likes

College has very good Infrastructure development and is well maintained.
The college students give high preference to sports and other cultural activities.
The standards of college faculty is very high and they teach very well.

Dislikes

I am doing my degree in Chemical Engineering, since most of the students dont want to opt this course we are less in number.
The seniors are very strict about hostel rules and regulations.
I do not like the mess food . It tastes sweet and it doesn't suit the eating style where I come from.

Placement Experience:

The Campus placements are quite good. Almost 50 percentage of students get placed but most of the students dont not have plans on accepting placements they either have their own plans or choose to go for Masters degree. Average package is around 1300000.

College located 30 km from Patna in a remote location
Food is cheap but quality depends on the vendor

Placements at IIT Patna are at par with top IITs. The average package has increased to 28LPA. Also the placements percentage has improved significantly. A lot of product based firms visit the college to select good talent including Google, Amazon, Oracle, Atlassian, Intuit, etc

Genuine Review for IIT Patna

my college has world class professors from various university like from MIT and other IIT's .
the teaching style of professors is very good and in labs we do experiments what really important and they don't teach unnecessary thing.
We have strong allumini network and good infrastructures. the clubs are very active every time which i like the most.

Dislikes

i don't like the college mess , i have taken so much time to used to it.
some professors are too strict to students and they don't care about students grade and they give tough papers.Regarding grading system they recently changed from relative to absolute grading it's tough to get good grades.
if we get any problem in academics and other problems while applying any scholarship they are always late to react.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Students needed minimum CGPA to get selected for placements drive.Qualcomm , Nvidia ,Samsung , Google, Amazon ,Intel. total of 413 offers are made in 2023-24. Overall 83% of students placed. I am planning to do research in electronics after getting my degree

All about IIT patna

Likes

There are various things such as hostels are very good ,neat and clean ,sports facilities are good there are various kind of sports so if a person is interested in sports he or she will have many options
Also the professors are really good and obviously as they are teaching in IIT so a student has very much to learn from them
If a person is interested in reasearch and all to then also he can persue it from here there are ample opportunities for them also

Dislikes

Things that I disliked are not much but the education system of the college kind of puts a lot of pressure on the student
Also there should be more fests as compared to now coz they keep to make the students happy
And the girls to boys ratio is 1is to 4which is quite less

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are really good specially in the cs orientation brances the placement is almost 100 percent which is a very big deal but when it comes to nom core obviously the placement are low as compared to cs but still they are decent when compared to other colleges

Iit ki kahani

Likes

Very good coding culture ,no ragging system
Students are well qualified and competitive too so we can enhance and develop ourselves
There will be so many events happening every month that I can enjoy along with ur academics

Dislikes

The mess is quite disappointing as the food is not very well

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am pursuing my degree in civil engineering as I am in first year only so I didn't went deep in my core branch.but according to first year we have to study all branches so it would be more hectic and students feel more pressurized and u get around 2 months from starting to ur mid semester and after that also 2 months for ur end semester.duration is very less but u have to manage it properly because all have their weightage in cgpas .
