- The grading system. This college has absolute grading system.
- The rooms in hostels for 2nd,3rd years are too small.
- The classes starts early nearly at 8 am .
Course Curriculum Overview
Sometimes classes start early around 8am and sometimes ends at 7:30pm. We get too many holidays, every saturday and sundays are holidays. We get a summer break around 3 months,and winter holidays around 1 month. Generally there will be 2 quizes, 1 midsem and 1 endsem and its difficulty depends on the respective professor as they prepare the paper.
Placement Experience
In phase 1 alone 207 students were placed,including 58 pre placement offers. Impressively, 12 international offers were made. The average package of Indian Institute of Technology stood at ?25.5LPA,where the highest domestic package reached 60LPA.Top recruiters this year are GOOGLE 15 offers ,FLIPKART, ZS ASSOCIATES,MICROSOFT ,AMAZON, ADOBE, INTEL , NVIDIA ,and ACCENTURE JAPAN. Departmentwise, M.Sc Mathematics program achieved 100%placement, artificial intelligence and data science 80% and computer science and engineering 75%. Aproximately 700 students participated for placements this year and participation of over 220 companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fee is 1,00,000 per semester and it depends on the category and family income.If you belong to SC/ST then there is no need to pay the course fee,you just need to pay for hostel, mess, transport, gymkhana,etc which is around 60000.The most economically backward students(whose family income is less than 1lakh per annum)shall get full remission of the tution fee.The most economically backward students (whose family income is between 1lakh and 5lakh per annum) shall get remission of 2/3rd of the tution fee.
Campus Life
The campus life is too good.IITP spread over 500 acres. there are enough fests around 3 main fests which are done in the college. there are many clubs in the college with good facilities . there are good sports facilities too. Overall IITP is good in all extra curriculam.
Hostel Facilities
in indian institute of technology patna there are main 4 hostels, specifically 3 boys( cv raman, aryabatta, kalam) and one girls hostel (asima).messes follow monthly rotating menu managed by a student mess committee. Meals include breakfast, lunch ,snacks and dinner. food quality is okayish. there will be a special dinner once a month.
Admission
I got admission in iitbhu,vit vellore,amrutha coimbatore,griet and some eamcet colleges but when compared to these colleges, I think IITPatna is better. So I preffered Indian Institute Of Technology over other colleges. We can get these college by clearing JEE Advanced and then participating in JOSAA counselling.
Faculty
In first year actually the courses are same for all,so the faculty to student is nearly 1:200. The faculty is good here. The teaching assistant to student ratio is nearly 1:40,which is good. The marking scheme is absolute grading. Which is somewhat tough when compared to relative grading. There are good enough labs and equipment in the campus.
Night Life
there is a gym inside the campus near gymkhana. there are 4 food outlets which runs till around 4 am in the early morning. generally for the firstyears ,curfew is followed after 10pm. the main gate closes at 10pm and no one can go out of campus after 10pm but can enter campus at anytime. there are some food outlets outside the campus like csb,momonation ,etc
