- The online mode gave me a lot of flexibility to attend classes, revise lectures anytime, and manage my studies along with personal work, which was very helpful for me.
- Most of the teachers were friendly and supportive. They explained concepts clearly and were available to clear doubts through emails and online sessions whenever needed.
- The course syllabus was well planned and covered both theory and practical topics, which helped me improve my skills and understand industry-related concepts better.
Dislikes
- Because it is an online course, there were fewer chances for face-to-face interaction with teachers and classmates, which sometimes made learning feel less engaging.
- Whenever there were issues with the portal or online exams, the technical support took more time to respond, which created unnecessary stress.
- The placement opportunities for online students were limited, and students had to depend a lot on their own efforts for internships and jobs.
Course Curriculum Overview
Overall, I would rate the course curriculum as good and fairly comprehensive in terms of both relevance and coverage. It includes most of the important subjects required for building a strong foundation, and it gives a balanced mix of theory and practical learning. One of the main reasons I chose this course was the wide range of core subjects included in the syllabus. The curriculum covers fundamental topics as well as some advanced subjects, which made me feel that it would be useful both for jobs and for higher studies. The inclusion of projects, assignments, and case studies also influenced my decision, as they help in applying concepts in a practical way. In terms of real-world preparation, the curriculum prepares students reasonably well. Many subjects are directly related to industry requirements, and the project work helps in developing problem-solving and analytical skills. However, practical exposure can be improved further by adding more hands-on activities, live projects, and industry-oriented tools. For students who want to go for higher studies, the theoretical base provided by the course is quite helpful. There are a few areas where the curriculum and teaching methods can be improved. Some subjects have outdated topics which should be updated according to current industry trends. More focus can be given to practical training, internships, and skill-based courses. Teaching methods can also become more interactive by using more discussions, presentations, and real-life examples instead of only slide-based lectures. Regarding the exam system, the course follows a semester-based pattern. There are usually: Internal assessments like quizzes and assignments during the semester One end-semester exam at the end of each semester Exams are conducted twice a year, at the end of each semester. The difficulty level of the exams is moderate. If a student studies regularly and understands the concepts, clearing the exams is not very difficult. The questions are most
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities provided by my college are quite useful and play an important role in preparing students for professional life. The college has a dedicated training and placement cell that regularly shares internship openings with students through the student portal and email notifications. These internships are offered in collaboration with both well-known companies and emerging startups, and many of them come with a stipend, which motivates students to participate actively. Some of the companies that frequently offer internships through the college include Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, and a few mid-size technology firms and startups. For management and analytics students, companies like Deloitte, KPMG, ICICI Bank, HDFC Life, and a few consulting firms also provide internship roles. The common roles offered under these internships include Software Development Intern, Data Analyst Intern, Web Development Intern, Business Analyst Intern, Digital Marketing Intern, and Operations Intern. The stipend usually ranges between ?8,000 to ?15,000 per month, depending on the company and the role. During my internship, I worked as a Software Development Intern with a mid-size IT company that was associated with the college. My main task was to work on a web-based attendance management system for internal use. The project involved designing simple front-end pages, connecting them with a database, and writing basic backend logic. Through this project, I learned how to work with real code, follow deadlines, and coordinate with a small development team. By the end of the internship, the system was successfully deployed for trial use inside the company, which gave me a lot of confidence. Some of my batchmates worked on different types of projects. One student, who interned as a Data Analyst Intern at a consulting firm, worked on analyzing customer survey data and creating dashboards using Excel and basic visualization
Fees and Financial Aid
I am enrolled in an online program where the fee is charged on semester basis. The fee per semester is 46,800, and this amount has remain same since the time of my admission. Till now, the institute has not officially announced any fee increase, so the total course cost is calculated using this fixed amount. The course is a eight semester program. So, the total fee for completing the full course comes to: 46800 per semester × 8 semesters =374440 for the complete course The fee that I pay every semester is mainly a combined tuition fee. Since this is a fully online course, there is no seperate charges for hostel, mess, transport or any physical facilities. Most of the usual charges like registration, admission, development fee, access to online labs and digital library are already included in the semester fee itself. There is no seperate caution or security deposit, and there are no lab or library fees charged differently because all the study material is provided online. In my batch, the fee structure is same for all students. There is no difference in fees based on category like General, OBC, SC, ST or Management. Everyone pays the same ?46,800 per semester for this online course. About scholarship and financial help, the institute provides limited options. Some students can get merit based scholarship if they have good academic record. There is also a merit cum need scholarship for students from weak financial background. Also, students from reserved category can apply for government scholarship through state or central portal, which may refund some part of the tuition fee. At the time of my admission, there was no fee hike and the semester fee has stay constant till now. Any future increase, if it happens, will depend on the institute policy and yearly revision.
Campus Life
My overall experience with campus life has been quite good and balanced, even though I am enrolled in an online program and my physical presence on campus is limited. Still, the college makes efforts to involve students through virtual events, clubs, and student communities, which helps in creating a sense of belonging. Festivals and Major Events The college organizes both cultural and technical festivals every year, which are quite popular among students. Some of the main festivals are: Annual Cultural Fest – “Utsav” (usually held in February or March) This includes music, dance, drama, singing competitions, and cultural programs. It is one of the most awaited events of the year. Technical Fest – “TechNova” (usually held in September or October) This focuses on coding contests, hackathons, quizzes, workshops, and guest lectures by industry experts.
Admission
Before finalizing this college, I had applied to a few other institutes as well. My main criteria while choosing a college were course structure, flexibility, fees, and recognition of the degree. I had applied to colleges like: A reputed private university offering the same online program One state university with a distance learning option One open university for a similar course Out of these, I received confirmed admission offers from two colleges, including my current college. I chose this college mainly because of the better course structure, reasonable fees, and more organized online learning system. Compared to the other colleges, this institute had a more industry-oriented syllabus, better digital platform, and clearer academic policies. Another important factor was the fee structure. Some other colleges had much higher fees, while a few had very low fees but weaker academic support. My current college offered a good balance between quality and affordability, which influenced my final decision. Rejections and What Went Wrong Yes, I did face rejection from one of the colleges I applied to. The main reason was that my entrance exam score was slightly below their cutoff. That college had a higher cutoff for my category, and due to heavy competition, I could not make it to the merit list. In another case, I missed the admission deadline because of delay in document verification, so my application was not considered in the final round. This taught me the importance of keeping track of deadlines and cutoffs carefully. Overall, what went wrong in those cases was mainly: Slightly lower entrance exam score High competition for limited seats Minor delays in completing formalities Admission Process of My College The admission process of my college is simple and well-organized, especially for the online program.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio in my course is quite reasonable. On an average, one faculty handles around 40–50 students, which allows proper interaction during online classes. Most of the teachers are approachable and helpful. They usually reply to emails and doubts within a reasonable time and are open to explaining concepts again if students do not understand in the first attempt. The relationship between students and faculty is generally good. Some teachers make extra efforts to motivate students and guide them not only academically but also in terms of career planning. However, a few faculty members are less responsive outside class hours, which sometimes makes doubt-clearing slow.
Interview Experience
Yes, there was an admission process that included an Interview round, but there was no Group Discussion or Written Test in my case. The interview was mainly focused on understanding my basic academic background, interest in the course, and future goals. Some of the questions asked were related to my previous studies, why I chose this particular course, and what I expect to learn from it. There were no technical or tricky questions, and the discussion was quite friendly and simple. The admission process was mainly based on my academic performance and eligibility criteria. After submitting the application and documents, I was shortlisted for the interview, and the final selection was done based on my profile and interview performance. To prepare for the interview, I revised my basic concepts from my previous studies, thought clearly about my career goals, and prepared honest answers about why I wanted to join this course. Overall, the process was smooth and not very stressful.
Night Life
The nightlife in and around my college campus during the immersion program is quite calm, disciplined, and focused more on relaxation than entertainment. Since the immersion program follows a tight academic schedule with long classes, projects, and group work throughout the day, students usually look for simple ways to unwind rather than going out for parties. The campus follows fixed timings, which shapes the entire after-class life. The main academic areas usually remain open till around 9:00 PM, after which students are expected to move back to their hostels. The hostel entry time is generally by 10:00 PM, and after that the gates are closed, with late entry allowed only with prior permission. This creates a structured routine and ensures safety for everyone. Facilities like the library, gym, and cafeteria play an important role in how students spend their evenings. The central library is normally open till 8:00 PM on regular days and is sometimes extended till 10:00 PM during exams
